DREAM Featherweight front runner Hiroyuki Takaya will return after a big KO victory over Joachim Hansen to take on former WEC Bantamweight champion Chase Beebe.

Michihiro Omigawa will fight his third non-Japanese fighter in a row when he takes on Cole Escovedo who brutally KO’d Yoshiro Maeda last time he fought in DREAM.

Akiyo “Wicky” Nishiura defeated Hideo Tokoro in the white cage last time but will now take on a completely different type of fighter in Mitsuhiro Ishida who fights at Featherweight for the second time.

One or two more fights will be announced for the event. Norifumi “KID” Yamamoto’s and/or Minwowaman’s fights.

“KID” isn’t on any TBS ads (here and here, thanks Pocopen) though so I’m not too sure about his participation. Minowaman is on one of them and if “KID” participating would even be a decent possibility you would think TBS would have him on their ads.

Caol Uno will not fight because they weren’t able to find an opponent for him.

Joe Warren will not participate because of his weight. I guess they couldn’t find an opponent close to Bantamweight for him.

DREAM Event Producer Sasahara said that Bibiano Fernandes will not participate due to personal issues and not because of the money problem as rumored. Bibiano vs. Takaya for the title was planned for the event so Takaya wasn’t in high spirits during the press conference.

Takaya and Omigawa also exchanged a few words at the press conference.

Takaya vs. Beebe is at 64kg, Tokoro vs. Hansen at 63kg, and the other Featherweight fights at 65kg.

The card kind of went to shit in a hurry. No KID or Uno hurts especially since it's going to be a Primetime card.

That PUJI money better come ASAP.

A matchup between heavyweight slayer Ikuhisa Minowa and British brawler James Thompson is in the works as a late addition to next week 's Dream.16.

On Friday, Thompson's agent Ken Pavia told MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani that both Minowa and Thompson have verbally agreed to the fight and will sign bout agreements shortly.

Although Minowa is giving up size once again, it's no secret who will be favored in this openweight tilt. Minowa, the reigning "Super Hulk" champion, has won five in a row, while Thompson has been knocked out in his last two fights and has lost 11 out of his last 14 decisive bouts.

Thompson will actually be a comparatively lighter opponent for Minowa considering that Minowa's last two opponents were super heavyweights Jimmy Ambriz and Imani Lee.

Thompson, a 31-year-old PRIDE, EliteXC and Cage Rage veteran, hits hard and holds notable victories over Don Frye and Hidehiko Yoshida. Thompson's last appearance for DREAM was a submission loss last October at Dream.12 to current Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem.
