Here we go again. When it finally looked like we may have some movement in the Dwightmare saga, ESPN reported that the Magic could be planning to hold onto Howard for the foreseeable future. Now, GM Rob Hennigan will travel to Los Angeles this week to "meet face-to-face with Howard and deliver a presentation designed to persuade Howard to return to the Magic." This could all simply be posturing by Orlando to get a better deal, but it now sounds like we're now back to exactly where we have been all along on the Dwight Howard trade front: stuck in neutral.

Dwight Howard met with Magic officials and is still demanding a trade and will not sign an extension to stay with the Magic.

"Dwight remained unchanged in his desire to be traded and has no intention of signing another contract or extension in Orlando," an unnamed source said of Howard's mindset. Expect talks with the Lakers to resume in the near future, while other teams may get back in the hunt for Howard. It's also possible the Magic wait until the trade deadline in February to move the big man, but it's clear that he has no intention or desire to stay with the Magic. And if Howard is traded to Houston (where he is not likely to sign an extension), or makes it to free agency in 2013, Dallas is the clear favorite to sign him due to their cap space.

I don't understand why they don't just unload his ass for a couple 1st round picks and try dump as many bad contracts as possible even if it's only 1 or 2 contracts. Anything has to be better than the limbo they're in now. If they keep dwight for half the year or more, they're just fucking themselves out of a top pick. They're not going to win a championship with Howard next year, just swallow your pride and let the fucker go.


A top pick next year means a chance at Nerlens Noel(whatever his name is), Cody Zeller, Isiah Austin (Dwights replacement?) or Shabazz Muhammad

nerlens has barely any offensive game..he's a less refined version of anthony davis

zeller might be pretty good.....

isiah plays a little too much like a guard and isn't strong inside..he needs to work on that but he has alot of potential

shabazz might be the best bet out of the 4

though who knows what the picture will exactly look like after a year of college basketball?

i doubt orlando would get the top pick(too much chance involved and such) but if they can clear some bugs, i think they can be viable for a top 3,top 5 pick

Any one of those players is going to be better than what they'll get with the 20th pick if they keep dwight plus they'll still be stuck with all those contracts. Not really seeing any logic in the magic holding out till next year unless there's some plan in place with NJ

i never said the magic holding out is a good thing(which i hope/assume you understand)

what i'm saying is that i'm not so sure there will be a strong #1 pick this year, as compared to guys like irving,griffin,rose,james,howard,etc.

and even if there is, there's no guarantee the magic will get it...

so,while i see your point and i agree with it, the whole pick thing is very much up in the air, which does mean contrastingly that i could be proven wrong and one of those guys listed could end up being really nba ready and could fall to the magic in the event that the magic would trade(which wont happen at this point)

and as for the 20th pick thing, most likely the top 5 will be better, but it's not a guarantee..

again, i see your point, just pointing out the crop for the draft next year might not be as strong...

I remember when he came into the league he use to try to speak about his wholesome Christian values............LOL. Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that there is yet one more possible trade scenario in the ongoing Dwight Howard saga.
"There are multiple moving parts in the fluid talks," Wojo noted, "but the framework of a possible deal includes Howard and Denver forward Al Harringtongoing to the Lakers, Philadelphia guard Andre Iguodala going to the Nuggets, Los Angeles center Andrew Bynum moving to the 76ers, and Los Angeles forward Pau Gasol and Denver guard Arron Afflalo going to the Magic, sources told Yahoo! Sports."
He added that a deal is not imminent, but talks have heated up this week. This deal would take care of some issues that have caused the Magic to stop short of pulling the trigger on a trade before. They would get draft picks, salary-cap relief and Gasol, rather than a one-year rental of Andrew Bynum. However, Wojnarowski noted that the final destination for both Gasol and Bynum remain fluid.
Because all teams involved in this rumored trade would actually get valuable pieces that make sense to their rosters, this may actually have some teeth to it. Stay tuned.
