I'm just waiting for flyers fans to come in and defend that giroux hit lol. The guy is a huge whiner and a cry baby. He should be suspended for a couple games but knowing the NHL they will just give him a $2500 fine.

That's the first time I've ever seen Giroux ream out a ref like that, and yes it is embarassing. I hate it when other teams do it, don't like it any better when it's mine. And how does that hit deserve a couple of games but the Neal hits on Couturier and Giroux only get one? Shanahan is incredibly inconsistent, but the Flyers aren't coming back from a 3-1 deficit anyway.

Agreed, but the precedent was set when they didn't hand out multiple game suspensions to players earlier in the play-offs

My favorite part about the whole incident was how Giroux is bitching to the ref about a call, and then literally seconds later he launches his shoulder into the face of an unsuspecting Devils player. HUH? He probably would have been better off just launching his shoulder into the ref's face, because perhaps he would have knocked the ref out and the other refs might not have seen it.

Giroux should get a 5-game suspension for stupidity alone.

Really frustrating way to end the season, what it comes down to is the Devils out-worked the Flyers and out-numbered them in every zone. Pretty much any time a Flyer touched the puck there were at least 2 Devils there pressuring them and the Flyers didn't or couldn't adjust.

I can't be too disappointed because of how many question marks the Flyers had coming into the season and the amount of rookies they used. The defense made too many dumb plays (mostly by Carle who I really, really, really want to see gone because he's going to get WAY over payed as a free agent.)

The goonishness exhibited by the Flyers in periods 2 and 3 were almost Slapshot-esque. What a terrible display of hockey by the Flyers. How Rinaldo escaped with merely a 2-minute penalty after taking out Zubrus' knee is beyond me. Ditto for Simmonds leaving his feet to drill Zidlicky's head into the boards. The difference between periods 2 and 3 was that the refs were actually calling penalties in period 2, but they swallowed their whistles in period 3. The final 2 minutes of the game consisted of Hartnell cross-checking Devils players in the back of the neck until they fell to the ice, then continuing to cross check them in the back of the neck until the ref blew his whistle. A total disgrace.

I guess the difference between the Broad Street Bullies and this year's Flyers is that the Broad Street Bullies actually won (and they had Bernie Parent in goal).

Because trading away two franchise players to sign a superstar goalie with no playoff track record totally didn't make a difference in this series, just like last year when the Flyers got smashed by Boston.

With how well Richards is playing now (he's being compared to toews) and what the flyers could of done if they didn't have a rookie filled team and stuck with someone like bobrovsky they could of very well went fairly far.

Fine, you're gonna bitch about Simmonds boarding someone? How about Volchenkov boarding Voracek minutes before? And about the Flyers cross checking people in the back fighting for the puck along the boards, ALL players do that, if you think only the Flyers do you then you haven't watched very much hockey.

What I find kind of funny is, the Flyers guys were the ones pointing out all the "cheap shit" other teams were doing, and now are catching feelings when the tables are turned.
