Knicks got hot at the right time, but were down 17 last night to the Bulls, came back to 6 down, then the Bulls said "ok, you go away now" and beat them 13. Maybe a few injuries.

If I had to stick for a player it would be Chauncy. Fuck Im rambling, who cares about this series.

Trying to be realistic here because I don't want to get my hopes up only to be crushed. An average Knicks team last made the playoffs in 2005 and they got swept...by Jason Kidd's Nets no fucking less.....

Obviously, the Celtics were the worst potential match-up for the Knicks (between them and the Heat) because they always seem to be able to pull off the W no matter what.

Kevin Garnett is still a beast and the Knicks have not been able to stop Paul Pierce at all. I fully expect to see that sumbitch's smiling face over and over throughout this series.

The Knicks should be able to win a couple and if they can win a game in Boston early, you will see a lot of hype come out of New York.

Comes down to 3 simple factors:

1. Defense -- If the Knicks can man up AT ALL and muster up a defensive presence when it matters most, they will make it a series. History says FUCK OFF especially with in-game defensive calls from D'Antoni, or lack thereof. Effort fuckers, EFFORT!

2. Carmelo -- Whatever happens in this series will not mean the trade was bad or good. Melo is here for the long run and this is step one. With that said, for them to do anything, he is going to need to play like he never has in the post-season. He has never won a series before and he's played with some solid Denver teams (arguably as good as this Knicks team although he never played alongside a guy like Amar'e). Since coming to NY, we have seen bits and pieces of his brilliance with game winning shots, late game defensive hustle, unstoppable moves.....but we've also seen a fair heap of shit from him, too.

3. Cast of Characters from New York -- No matter what, the Knicks cannot rely solely on Amar'e and Melo. At points in this series, they will need Billups, Fields, Douglas, etc. to step up and provide sparks. Billups is just as important as the big 2 really because he will be playing against one of the best in the game in Rondo. Fields may not be an offensive threat like he was (sorta) in the first half, but if he's around the ball like we're use to, clutch. And Douglas, the spark plug off the bench can be great or he can be shit. Usually when he plays well and scores 10 points or so, the Knicks win.

The point being, they need a Fields, Douglas, Shawne Williams, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, whoever the fuck to help out...especially if the Amare/Melo/Billups find foul trouble (and I think they may since they'll be guarding the KG/PP/Rondo).


I fully expect the Celtics to win this series, all I can hope for is an upset at best, a win or two being realistic and at worst....another fucking sweep. :smh:

But the 08-09 Nuggets lost to the Lakers in the WCF in 6 games, so he's won 2 series'.

He averages 24.5 PPG, 7 RPG in 45 career playoff games.

Melo had a horrible second half. Horrible.

Chauncey went down hard, knee strain. Probably doubtful for Tuesday although who knows what a day off will do.

Now instead of finally unleashing some demons, they face pretty much a must win in game two...in boston. :smh:

I got the same sickening feeling watching this game as I did Giants/Eagles last December. Knicks snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Couldn't close it out - that offensive foul on Carmelo was a killer.

Shaq is confirmed out for game two.

Chauncey is considered most likely out for the game. Toney Douglas becomes the starting 1 while I'd expect Bill Walker to get more playing time (especially if Fields continues his streak of nada).

Limit Boston's offensive/defensive rebounds, hopefully Carmelo wakes the fuck up and they can make this a series.
