I think its going to be a long, long time before someone in the NFL is as overrated as Michael Vick. The Falcons draft Vick instead of LaDainian Tomlinson. Strike one. Vick is basically a black version of Bobby Douglass...he never figures out how to pass and he never can produce against a decent defense. He never really wins anything, but his mediocre W-L record is constantly brought up to take focus away from his inability to pass. Strike two. Then, when he leaves his franchise in disgrace, the team finally starts winning consistently. Strike three.

I don't think Vick was a disgrace to football on the field, as you obviously do. Granted, I don't think he was a good quarterback, I think he was alright, nothing special, but he wasn't bad. the guy helped his team win, and in the end that's all that really matters.

I personally don't think Vick will ever walk on an NFL football field ever again. He's older now, the legs more then likely are nothing like they were, and on top of that he's a PR nightmare because of the obvious.

if I were a GM, this is the LAST guy I'd want on my team, Wildcat offense or not, there are plenty of kids in college who can throw the ball a mile and are just as fast as Vick.

a bust is Ron Dayne, not Mike Vick, yea, a first round pick could have been better, yes, Atlanta passed on one of the greatest runningback in the last decade for an off the field fuck up.

but, the off the field fuck up helped his team win, and even went to the NFC title game.

I was trying to say that no matter what Vick had done on the gridiron, you come off as if you believe he is arguably one of the most terrible quarterbacks to ever walk on the field.

Instead you got a mediocore win %, he never progressed, you made ONE NFC Championship game, he's had a mediocore career so far and had a fall from grace the likes of which have never been seen in the NFL.

So what? A lot of marginal QB's have won big games. Hell, Rex Grossman went to a Super Bowl, and had some good games in the playoffs for the Bears.

I love how Vick fanboys such as yourself always bring up the "he made the NFC title game". One, its damning praise because the NFC title game wasn't even competitive as Vick played really bad. Two, its not really that much of an accomplishment when you realize that the Falcons basically got a bye to the title game because they had to defeat the 8-8 Rams (a team that gave up nearly 100 more points than they scored and were probably the worst playoff team in NFL history) to get there. Vick threw for a whopping 82 yards against the Rams.

The only NFL records that Vick holds are specific to QBs, and specific to a QBs rushing totals. Those records were held by Bobby Douglass, so that should tell you their significance. Also, Douglass still holds the record for QB single-season rushing yards per game, which is Vick's only notable accomplishment.

Vick had 117 yards passing in that Green Bay game. Wow.
