Fallout 3 Impressions

i bought broken steel last night cause i wanted to level up my guy while i continue playing. i got up to level 21 last night. i put in 130 hours into this game and i still havnt finished it. Now with the ability to level up to 30 its worth playing again. I love building my guy and adding perks...

i am done with all the main stories side quests, and im on the mission where i am looking for the geck.....so i am almost done with the main story.

i also need to find 4 more bobbleheads.

I think it depends on which plot you like more, and post-apocalyptia interests me much more than the 7,000 let's play Knights, Paladins, Archers, and Mages games that exist.

i played oblivion for about 5 hrs total. I just couldnt get into it. The setting was just not for me.

like you mentioned, the setting for fallout is great. Plus the weapons and vats combat system are a ton of fun. I love the weapons the most. Turning an enemy into a pile of green goo with the plasma, or launching 5 mini nukes at a super mutant behemoth is a blast

The dlc adds between 4-8 hours of gameplay doing the actual storylines, broken steel on the other hand adds several more hours if you intend to get your character to level 30... i personally feel like the only two dlcs worth the dl are broken steel and the pitt because operation anchorage was just to short and there wasnt enough new things added to the game for me.

The power armor from O:A is worth it IMO. It never needs to be repaired so that makes it a must have for me anyway.

like 34 damage resi yea its worth it to not have to repair it but i dont think that armor is worth ten bucks... the pitt has several good armor sets ashur power armor and the tribal power armor are pretty bad ass... Im thinking about picking this up for pc. There are tons of good mods out there that make the gameplay almost unlimited..

I thought morrowind was a little deeper than oblivion and I place oblivion on about the same level as fallout but I didnt really play oblivion as much as I did fallout so maybe I missed something... I just didnt think there were enough unique items in oblivion as there were in morrowind. Maybe it was the lack of daedric weapons and armor that made me not like oblivion though....

Save the money you would spend on OA and buy the new Point Lookout DLC which comes on June 23rd. It adds a HUGE section of map, and is supposed to be challenging to higher level players.

And I have a question...I lost my Fat Boy nuke launcher when the Star Paladin Cross was following me around and I gave it to her to hold. When I...lost her a little later...I couldn't get it back from her, and now I can't find another one.

riley, there are a few spots that come to mind when looking for a fatboy.
Old Olney.....this is in the upper right corner of the map by vault 92.....watch out for the deathclaws......the FB is in the sewers

My problem is that I would pick up one and repair my other one with it....I'm not sure how many are left.

I have like 23 nukes and nothing to shoot them with Does the Rock-It Launcher work?

Oh, and not only is Point Lookout coming, but Mothership Zeta will be out in July. That has to do with the radio signal sent by the UFO and alien abduction stuff.

ah ha....i know that feeling. I had the same issue with the crutch for the rail gun....where the hell are they when u need one. lol

finally finished the main quest and the all the main stories side quests. i had a different ending. I dont know how the game normally ends, but i know the broken steel DLC prevents it from ending like it normally would. Alot of people complained about the ending. I thought it was as good as the rest of the story. Nothing spectacular, but still solid.

In vault 87 i released the big super mutant....forgot his name but i will call him fred. I released him and had him get the geck for me. I did all the crap in raven rock and when i got to pres eden, i talking him into blowing himself up. I was surprised that he did it to himself, but i also found a self destruct code on my way to meet him so that may have influenced his choice to self destruct on his own. I got out of raven rock and when i got outside i was greeted by fred who was so happy that i freed him that he became a follower......

if u dont know, the whole point to freeing fred is cause he can handle all the rads in the room with the geck.....his rads resistance turned out to be huge later when i got to the end and had to turn on the purifier. I was given the choice to have sarah or myself die from the rads when turning on the purifier. Since i had fred following me, he was also a choice and nobody died because he survived the rads.

me and sarah were knocked out from the electronic whatever, and 2 weeks later i woke up in the citedel. Of course since i have broken steel, a new quest is now waiting me in the SW corner of the map.......

.........thats it.......

i also managed to locate the last 3 bobble heads. The last one was a bitch......it was the small arms bobble in the national guard depot.....fucking robots galore!

Fawkes is a fucking wrecking ball. I love it when he screams, "Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" and goes in with his fucking gatling laser while I mop up. We are a 2 man wrecking crew.

Do you need to have all the created weapons in your inventory to get the achievement? I finally found a belt in some random mailbox by the Deathclaw sanctuary, but didn't get the lovely sound.

so riley, how did your game end?

i got that achievement just by making all the weapons. not by having them in my inventory. You sure u got them all? dont forget about that bomb you can make out of the lunchbox
