Fallout 3 Impressions

yeah i been itching to play it again. Gotta go rent it after im done with UC2

I was playing this game religiously before Modern Warefare dropped, then Fallout 3 hit the back burner and I stuck to MW2, NBA2k10 and Fifa. Needed to get my RPG fix and I went back to it. I have GOTY edition btw. And the first time playing through I had no idea what the hell was going on, I just did whatever to my hearts desire and got a little entertainment out of it.

I went evil the first time I played, and since picking it up again I'm taking the good path. I'll go back and do evil again, because I really shit the bed on that file doing too much, too soon and ruining some good parts of the game (Ten Penny Tower, namely). So this time around I'm taking my time, and doing side quests and just plotting along. And I'm really enjoying this game.

I was one of those guys that played Oblivion a few times through, so I could see myself doing it with this game, maybe once I complete it with my good character I'll go back and start an evil character and of course get them both through the DLC.

Finally feels like I'm making real progress in this game, and the game just keeps getting better.

Up to level 11, 200xp from 12. Me and my follower are both rocking the power armor and plasma/laser guns. Tearin' shit up!

Broken steel doesn't start till you finish the game anyways, game "ends" then you wake up and broken steel/open world again starts, can't remember if its like fable and you have to watch the credits or if you can just skip back to broken steel. Of course you paid for it so you better not have to wait through the credits.

I think I may go back to the Wasteland for a run at Mothership Zeta and the rest of Broken Steel.

I didn't really have a good time with Mothership Zeta to be honest. Point Lookout and Broken Steel are the shit.

It was just stupidly long and repetitive. I had to push myself to finish it so I didn't feel like the money was wasted.

Mrs. Rylo beat Operation Anchorage before me lol.

Alright, so got about 46 hours put into this now.

I just got done with the Vault 87 mission, and then the Raven Rock mission.

Now my question is, if I go speak to Elder Lyons and get the last quest rolling, you can't keep playing after beating the main quest right?

So I'm wondering can I just avoid speaking to him, and continue side questing and whatever I feel like doing?

Also I already went ahead and spoke with him just to see what would happen (didn't save though). Do you basically have two options on how to handle this last quest? Either put the poison thing in the water, or join up with the Pride(?) and kill the Enclave entirely?

i finished all the side quests before coming close to the end. But i think if you have broken steel you can continue....i am not sure though since its been awhile

Apparently not.

After beating the last quest it went straight to the credits and stuff, then the main menu.

Oh well, guess I'll keep playing without starting that quest.

see i got broken steel before i finished the game and i am able to keep playing...without it, it just ends

If you have broken steel, you should wake up after the credits roll, if you don't your going back to the main menu, are you sure you installed the dlc? also you can talk to lyons and then go do whatever you want and meet back up with the pride at the jefferson monument...

I didn't install anything. I rented the original version, played that for two days. Then returned it, bought the GOTY edition, continued playing my same character. When I booted it up with the GOTY four quests or so popped up, pretty much a bunch of "go explore this area".

maybe you don't have to install on the ps3 edition then, something must be wrong with your disc cause broken steel doesn't start till you beat the main quest and activiate teh water thing,

Playing 'The Velvet Curtain' on Point Lookout, I wish there were more missions like this and the Museum of History, focusing on the Fallout universe history rather than the present wasteland.

I need to jump back on this game. I beat it months ago and haven't played it since. Only achievements I haven't got are the karma achievements which I don't have time to go back and get.
