Not sure if this has been posted yet but I'll make one regardless.

I'll update this first post whenever new videos or news are released.

So far this is what we know about FIFA 12:

Basically articles sums up the following:
Comparing Fifa 11 gameplay to Fifa 12
- The first, precision dribbling, allows players to take many short touches on the ball, enabling them to move in very tight circles. This allows you to get out of tight spots,or hold up the ball more efficiently.
- it makes moving a player in FIFA 11 look like steering an oil tanker.
-New impact engine (More appropriate collisions, No awkward collisions and limbs going through torsos)
- No more press button (Holding X or A)

That was some cheap ass shit but I don't blame anyone for using it since they put it in the game, after all. If you play online, I bet you'll see a lot of people who play off-ball defense now (and let the CPU play the ball carrier) because they don't want to get burned.

I hear they are making a push to get more teams in the game as well.

The fact that they didn't have Cote D'Ivoire and Nigeria is a crock of shit.

So I just went back and played a game of FIFA WC 2010, Spain v Portugal. Then followed that up with a game of FIFA 11, Arsenal v Spurs. Both on Legendary.

A few observations...

1- The Spain match was fun
2- The Spurs match was not
3- WC's play seemed more open and fluid, FIFA seemed more tight, and restricted.
4- Players made better runs on WC and didn't feel so confined to "rails". FIFA players made terrible runs, players made the same run, and players seemed to not know where the ball was half the time.
5- Any shot on FIFA that wasn't 1 v 1 with the keeper was getting blocked. Finding space to get a shot off is tough. Possibly because defenders are fucking mental, they're like glue and for some reason centerbacks were just as fast as Walcott.:crazy:
6- Fouls were called FAR more evenly and correctly/realistically on WC. It's damn near impossible for the AI to foul on FIFA.
7- On FIFA you have to move the ball down the wings because you're not getting it through the middle of the park.

WHY THE FUCK DO I KEEP PLAYING FIFA? :headbang: Fix this shit EA.

This is a nice list of the gameplay problems with FIFA. There's also a multitude of problems in Manager Mode, as well. I was going to try PES this year and see how I like it.

In the buzz I'm riding of the Gold Cup inspired me to play another CYC run in FIFA WC 2010. Played all 4 of my B-Intl matches (10 min halves, World Class cause Legendary is too tough when you only control one player) and loved every second of it.

Still the best football game on next gen IMO.

Since they are both still on PC, I'll try before I buy going forward. I think PES has potential to be a better game going forward, even with these new physic and dribbling improvements that FIFA is adding.

In the end, EA is so fuckin obsessed with controlling/limiting what happens in their games that they don't allow for any spontaneity or genuine creativity which leads to a boring and somewhat repetitive game to play.

Well in FIFA they seem obsessed with skill moves, which is annoying as fuck.

How many times in an actual game do you see a guy bust out an elastico, followed by a 360, finishing up with a rainbow, and then chipping the keeper for a goal? Yet that seems to be what EA is looking for.

Exactly tho, they are forcing you to use that crap which then gives you a higher chance at "dice rolling" past the defenders and keeper.

Rather than, oh I don't know, doing something relevant to the play happening on the pitch. That unfortunately requires solid CPU AI which EA neglects across the board.

What's even more annoying is that I'm not even sure the tactics I set up really have any impact on the game at all. It's all about being a stick wizard.

Seriously though, LOL at tactics. FIFA and tactics is like Jesus and Science.

These fuckin tactics never had any sort of input on what we do.

This has been another one of my major gripes. How is this not in the game by now?

If this were in the game though, my life would nothing but FIFA online.

OMM would alleviate a lot of the concerns with CPU Management, since you'd have (potentially) tons of other user managers.

I don't even know where to begin with the problems in FIFA.

Probably the worst AI of any EA game. Defense, offense.
Arcadey. Skills overpowered. Pace overpowered. No tactics are needed, just cross into the box.
Every mode is broken. Manager Mode can only be fixed with a major overhaul at this point.
Some of the worst refereeing and lack of fouls against CPU.
Very repetitive games. L1+X passes then a lob thru.
Goalies rarely called for fouls.
I don't really notice because I don't have the greatest knowledge of the sport, but a lot complain about broken formations.
Online modes? Basically FUT or nothing, which isn't everyones cup of tea.
Really a lack of support post release. Never really promised to fix MM, besides progression which did not fix anything.
Strategy/tactics. No use. You play EA's soccer, or you lose.
