Forza 3 vs Gran Turismo 5

Which one is going to be the better game.


Forza has always been a damn good Xbox/Xbox360 game white Gran Turismo has the track record of making incredible games. With all the promises they've made I think Forza will be the better game.

What do you guys think?

I'm going with Forza. If it's half as fun online as Forza 2 was, forget about it. Competition over.
Plus Forza has so many things to do (paint your car, etc...) and will get a ton of DLC.

Start keeping tabs on ign, gamestop, gametrailers and the sony boards. Polyphony has been and always has been pretty mum on their info.

I think you will find more success to find details on Forza on these sites.

I said that before playing Forza 3, then I got hooked. Only for like a month, but I still got hooked...until everyone got super-cereal about playing sim all the time, then that shit got boring.

I have played both and like both equally. Each has their good points and bad points. I give the edge on tracks to Taurismo. I give the edge on realism to Forza.

of course Forza is more realistic........cars actually get damaged when hit and you cant bump AI and use AI cars to cut corners.

Forza is more realistic by a mile......

GT just looks beautiful......someone said it earlier it is a driving simulator....NOT a racing game by any means compared to Forza.

forza 2 is the best racing game i've played. it set some pretty lofty standards for GT. GT games are always great though so i dont see why GT5 would be different

Not even close. I think Forza 2 vs GT5 might be a better argument. PD announced online play for GT3 (with a Jan 2000 release date) right after the PS2 released. Here we are almost 10 years and several versions of the game later and Im still waiting to see PD deliver on the promises they made for GT3. PD can kiss my ass.

Forza, no real contest unless all you have is a playstation and you have no choice but get GT and you are just defending it.

GT has a great list of cars, tracks and a decent offline mode with great driving mechanics

forza has great list of cars, tracks, damage, driving mechanics and awesome online mode. offline the career mode needs work but you have car auctions, car mods and tuning and custom paint jobs.

forza simply has more to do and it backed by an awesome engine.only downfall is the offline career. hopefully forza 3 addressed this

I've played past versions of Forza, and GT up to part 4. I've preferred GT up this point.

The racing game vs. driving sim point made earlier in the thread is really the best way you can put it.

And this is as close to a console war as you can get without naming the thread xbox360 vs ps3

And noone here can comment on damage because we don't even know what it entails in GT5...

Lets just all agree that we have 2 badass racing games coming...

I'm not really going to weigh in as I've only played GT2....and even then, only once....as far as the GT5 vs Forza 3 argument, but I know I'm going to love Forza 3. If they fix a few issues with the replay/screenshots and improve the single player, I'm sold. My only really huge issue with Forza 2 was that the screenshots get such a huge hit in resolution that the cars didn't look right on a computer with non-crisp lines. If that's fixed, that's what's really going to make me an even happier camper.

they still need another year? i would expect alot of nut busting if i ever play this game as long as its taking. could GT5 be the next team fortress 2? me thinks, perhaps

I had a blast playing Forza 2 with the racing wheel and shit. It was a very fun game to play online a couple years ago. I loved it. Too bad the 360 kept breaking...that piece of shit.:yell:
