Especially when you're comparing it to The Great Gatsby which is required reading for millions of people every year. Yeah, not in the same boat at all.

You'd have a point if the books weren't approaching a Harry Potter level of popularity among adult readers.

It's pretty customary for shows to take breaks over holiday weekends. Relax fellas many people will be out on the lake, having cookouts, etc. They want those massive ratings and the shitshow of youtube reaction videos.

To be fair, I want those reaction videos, too. I told a few show watchers this weekend (who have NO CLUE about future events) that I want them to record themselves watching these last two episodes. People are going to essplode.

My gf can't wait for this next episode. She loves weddings. This is going to be Say Yes to the Dress:Renaissance Edition.

I want my girlfriend to watch Game of Thrones but she's only seen the pilot and she hated it. It's hard to blame her because the pilot basically paints everyone as a scumbag and sets up a ridiculously depressing realm. I'm sure after I sit her down and get her to watch a few more episodes, she will start picking up on the finer details of the primary movers and shakers and enjoy the show, but by that time, she won't be able to avoid spoilers regarding major events. I truly think that this season will be a huge event.

I mean, it might be okay. She's more immune than most to pop culture. Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring on Breaking Bad) came into her work and she had no idea who he was - he told her "Watch Breaking Bad and you might see someone who looks familiar" - I just about lost my shit.

When we watched the pilot, like two weeks ago, she saw Eddard Stark and was like "Hey is that Boromir?" So there's that hope that if she didn't even know that Sean Bean was on the show that she has no clue what to expect. *fingers crossed*

Wow, what an amazing episode. So much blood all over the place.

 

The wedding killings were insane. The stabbing of Talisa reminded me of the shanking in Breaking Bad of the guys in the prison. That was just a crazy scene all around. Frey's reaction when Rob saw his good looking daughter was classic.

Grey Worm is a beauty fighter.

I still can't get into the Bran storyline at all. Just does nothing for me.

Somehow with the fetus stabbing, throat slashing, betrayal and all that, the part that got to me the most was when they took Grey Wind.

You sure though? I'm not convinced just yet, it is possible she was a spy who had been promised safety but was told not to get pregnant. Seems like the final affront that got her done. Criminal enterprises take out the trash when someone outlives their purpose. If she was indeed a plant, she had outlived her usefulness.
