The recap videos have been pretty good too where they mix smaller awards with parody for about 15 minutes then do a 30 minute quick look at one of their personal GOTYs.

i enjoyed seeing 3 different points of views. I wish they had left out the stupid 10 seconds of pointless whatever cutscenes they added between each number on the list.

the biggest thing that stands out to me was how these lists are a stunning reminder of how terrible 2012 was for gaming. Just an overwhelming list of mediocre games throughout this year. These guys had to pick something

before you post some retarded pic or comment that i am wrong, watch the videos and you will notice an 8 bit game that looks like it was released 25 years ago, a flash based game and a 2D scroller. Not to mention that 1 of the 3 even mentions how his #2 game has a game breaking bug on PC and was terrible on the consoles.

yeah just a sign of an old tired console cycle. I mean ME3 is a great game but it isnt all that much different that ME2...just an continuation as almost all the recent games are. Hardly anything new, innovative, ground breaking has been released lately. There people are getting intrigued by games that are 20 years old because it almost feels like new it has been so lone.

I mean really COD MW, WAW, MW2, BLOPS, MW3, BLOPS2.........exhausting. At least we are getting another GTA Game...

I am so ready for PC graphics, 60 FPS, better AI, new interface, and whatever else those developers can think of.

Although Maynard if you are a casual and only plays a few games...there is plenty to keep you happy console wise.

It's more than just those 3 videos, but they will release them slowly over the coming days. Off the top of my head, Jeff, Patrick, Alex, and (possibly) Dave still need to drop their Top 10s.

And I don't know what you're talking about - 2012 was a fantastic year for gaming. However, I don't imagine you play much outside of the big-box AAA stuff (no offense). Of course that stuff is starting to get old! Plus, the first half of 2013 is looking VERY promising.

It's a great day to be a gamer.

it tells me those AAA games are mediocre. they are not bad, but they are not great either. They are mediocre at best.....where is our stand out games of 2012? I dont understand why people want to claim 2012 was a great year. Compare 2012 to any year going back 20 years and tell me of a year that was worse

For me (and I'm counting Witcher 2 even though it technically came out last year for PC) in no particular order, these are 10 great games I played this year that would probably make my 10 best games of 2012:

Borderlands 2

Honorable Mention that I either haven't finished yet or wouldn't quite crack the top 10 but still were very good to almost great games:

Dragon's Dogma
Binary Domain
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Sleeping Dogs
Asura's Wrath
Fez

I would also say Torchlight 2 would likely climb onto the list once I have time to delve back into it, and I love what I've played thus far of Stealth Bastard Deluxe and Botanicula.

So yeah, I disagree with you that this wasn't a good year for games, and I honestly don't get your point because you are irrationally focused on these "AAA" games you're mentioning. What does that constitute? Just because a modern game has some retro graphics, I don't think it takes anything away from it. But I guess I'm just utilizing selective reading, even though I would be willing to guess you probably didn't play the majority of the games on my list or the GB lists, so that's why I don't understand why you even take the time to lament that this is a bad year for games.

I thought you were done with video games anyway?
