What I like about Goodell?
He actually deals with the fuck-heads (Pacman and others) and teams are actively seeking "character" in players now. Say what you want about athletes being Role Models, but they are.
He's also killing off the excessive celebration. I'm sorry, it's a football game, not your audition for your Hollywood career. Playing with emotion, and celebrating with your team is a completely different set of actions than running 15 yards away from everyone on the field to flex your arms because you made a tackle. Raw emotion and celebration is fine. Planned celebration is not.
What I dislike?
Penalties are too big a part of the game.
Hits near the sideline are called to often.
Bumping the QB's head is callled to often
Defenseless receivers are called to often.
Illegal contact is called to often.
Helmet to Helmet is called incorrectly, far, far to often.
At the same time, SPEARING, a penalty as old as the helmet, is never called. You can drop the defenseless receiver, the helmet to helmet, the QB blow to the head stuff if you called spearing properly. If a defensive player leads with his helmet (not facemask, helmet) Personal Foul, 15 yards. Fix HOW the players tackle, not WHEN they tackle.
