Can you race a rally car, nascar, and street car all in the same race or are there certain classes for certain races?

im not a big racing game guy so forgive me if this is common knowledge to you GT guys

I would be happy if I could buy the game for $20.

You can beat it easily if you rent it. I still go back and race tracks b/c it is relaxing to drive around....i am a car guy.

I wont trade it in until we get a solid date on GT5

Shoulda just called me son...

There are different Driver License Classes.

There are also several race circuits. There will be a tuner circuit, muscle, rally, open wheel, nascar etc etc.

In the previous games the most challenging ones were the 24 hr races.
 
Well Justo found a gamestop page with 5/3/2010 as the release date but I think thats been there for a while now. I am hoping for this game to release by the end of the year.

They don't just randomly slap release dates on games, if games don't have a release date they just have them available for preorder and/or a fiscal year release date...

December 29 is on a Tuesday, and not the end/beginning of a fiscal year :)

Releasing it on Dec. 29th is kind of weird. I remember reading somewhere that one of the Sony people slipped and said GT5 would be out by Christmas. I'm sure marketing would prefer by Christmas rather than after.

Personally, I believe the Sony slip-up. Since the PSP version is coming Oct. 1, the PS3 version by Christmas would seem likely.

When asked about the Amazon thing, Sony responded they couldn't comment.
 
Well now GTPlanet.com is saying that they know the release date, and its before December 29th, but they are waiting for official word from a Sony press conference scheduled for August 18th

Kazunori Yamauchi has given us a heads-up regarding what to expect from GT5 in terms of hard drive installation size via Twitter (human translation thanks to our own SHIRAKAWA Akira):

If you have at least 256MB it will work, but if you have 10 GB available you will be able to play comfortably.

Most of today’s heftiest games consume at least several GB – by comparison, GT5 Prologue requires about 6GB. Copying data to the system’s internal drive significantly reduces loading times due to the faster rate at which data can be read from HDD into the system’s memory. Yamauchi’s tweet is a little ambiguous on the details regarding exactly how much space you will need, but for the best possible experience, just make sure you’ve got at least 10GB available before November comes along!
