Anyone know how I can get different types of tires for my car aside the ones that came with the car? I want to put soft racing tires on, but I can't find anywhere to buy these for any of my cars.

What did you guys use for the FF Lightweight Challenge? and the European Classics?

FF Lightweight: Citroen C3 (first car I bought)

Euro Classic: Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint (prize car from something, don't remember what)

I've just been using prize cars, haven't bought hardly anything.

Kazunori Yamauchi has been fielding questions from fans on Twitter over the past few hours. The tweets are in Japanese, but with a little help from Google and medhi_san, we can get a pretty good idea of what he’s talking about. Here’s the highlights:

* Flexible camera angles and “dynamic and wide-area lighting needs” are to blame for the sometimes blocky shadows. Yamauchi admits they are a problem and wants to improve them.
* Yamauchi appears to consider the possibility of removing the in-game HUD (heads-up-display features) at some point in the future.
* To unlock the Red Bull X1, you’ll need to complete the “Sebastian Vettel Challenge”, which appears at Level 30.
* Online “lounge” functionality and other features will be added “one by one”.
* Polyphony Digital continues to work on fully supporting the Logitech G25 and G27, though Yamauchi admits he would like a “new steering device soon”…
* Mechanical damage options will be implemented in a new update for GT5 coming “early December”.
* As you may know, many players noticed that GT5’s face-tracking functionality only worked in Arcade mode. According to Yamauchi, it’s not available in GT mode due to memory issues with the PS3.
* In-game rewards (such as the monetary prize in GT5 Prologue) for your performance in online events is something Polyphony Digital is considering, and may be implemented in a future update.
* Gran Turismo 5’s official, 2-disc sound-track will be released soon.
* Yamauchi wanted to implement a “free roam” gameplay mode in GT5, where players could drive around, respecting speed limits and obeying traffic laws, and even exit the car to walk around and explore the environment on foot.
* The YouTube replay upload feature had to be pulled from the final version of the game because it took a very long time to render and it consumed too much memory. Yamauchi is still considering it, however.

You mean the tuning shop in our garage or at GT Auto, because I have "changed" into my car and take it to GT Auto, and it keeps telling me that no mods are available or something similar.

Yea so when I do that, I go to tires and click on tires. And then click on the "tires" picture in the middle of the screen and it shows me only one type of tire and I can't change anything.

Let me ask another thing, can you only change tires for cars you have bought? I think I have been trying this on cars I have won or that came with the collector's edition.

Ive only tried cars that ive bought, i know ive tried to sell cars ive won but it wont let you.

You get a medal for level of completion, potentially 3 different cars you get iirc

Also, for tires, you should be able to see all (11?) types of tires, but if you can't install it there will be an exclamation point next to it...I don't know if you are in the right section.

Boucher apparently there are more than a few of those types of awards, I think I read that at 50 cars owned you get a random vehicle...some people have gotten badass cars, most have gotten crap.

You also get a reward for taking to a track 100 times


I have kept a lot of my prize cars, holding them for now until I feel I don't need/want them anymore.

I just won the Ferrari California, probably gonna sell that one though.

Yeah, I broke down and decided to buy a Ferrari 599 instead of a race car, but it I maxed it out, its over 800 hp. I'll post pics/specs tomorrow.

Neither of those sections man, before you pick GT Auto, look to the right of that which is the proper tuning section. The one in the garage is just for adjusting things (like downforce/tranny gearing) that you already have on the car.

So between all the Chrome Line cars I received with the collector's set. The M3 is the best handling car. The Shelby is a wild banshee in heat, the R8 is a pain in the ass to drive, the Benz is crazy in the turns and I haven't tried the Lambo yet.
