Heaven.....It is my opinion that all these titles do something great.

IMO Forza 3 will have the most features and the most bang for your buck. I am a big fan of personalizing my cars to make them feel like they are unique and they are truly mine. That's what Forza brings to the table. In GT if you bring a EVO 10 to an online race it wont be much different than the person next to you. In Forza my EVO 10 will looks totally different and the parts and tuning in my EVO can be 100% different than my competitor. That's what makes Forza so unique and so damned addictive. Last year I had like 5 STIs and 5 Evos all different cars with different purposes.

It hard not to have a Forza thread without a GT comment and vice versa. IMO these games are HUGE System Sellers. They are in direct competition with each other and could sway a potential racing fan in either direction. These are very important titles to each system!!!

Its from the replay mode, which is done in real time, but I think the replay mode they add video effects, but the game does run at nearly 60 fps consistently...I don't think it ever drops below 55.

IMO, even in Prologue there are certain times in replay mode that it looks photorealistic. They are just completely anal about their car modelling and track modelling.

I read an interview a while back from Kaz about track modelling and he was talking about how all the trees are in the exact location of their real life counterpart...this is important imo because I used to work in Champ Car (now IndyCar) and I know that specifically at Laguna Seca the drivers would key into a certain tree off in the distance to line up the car to turn into the blind corkscrew turn (which is competely badass irl)

I also posted this in an older GT5 thread, but this is another example of their attention to detail and what the PS3 can handle:

Some things I noticed with the IGN HD vids about the track:

Trees are looking improved, with actual branches instead of the 2D variety.

The walls look like they're bump-mapped, though I can't really tell 100%.

The buildings actually have the interiors modeled. The ceiling lights are not 2D textures; watch the vid and you'll see the lights move independently of the building.

The textures have dramatically improved; you can see a map on this small sign very clearly, whereas in Gran Turismo 4 even the Times Square signs were blurred to hell.

seriously though, GT5 will probably be an awesome game. the only reason i think forza will 1 up it is due to the customization features the game has. but imo, forza 2 was to blah on the track. I got bored with it. I want a realistic racing game, but i want it to be fun too....and it wasnt all that fun

one thing i always liked about the GT series was earning licensees to play with better cars and tracks

Customization as far as logos, vinyl's, body kits, etc is one thing that Forza will have and GT won't.

GT has spoilers and rims. Meh.

But to say Forza looks better or plays better is absurd. lol.

I love the endless amount of combination of racing parts you can put on a car which can basically make no car the same.

The idea that I can take a Eagle Talon and make it into a 800 hp monster is fun as hell. Till you actually drive it and the HP practically tears the car apart!
