I was trying for awhile and gave up. I lost the drive to play by now.

I tried to play online today, no luck, but I'm only 28% into the offline game, so no big deal. Enjoying the offline game so much. This is my favourite non-sports videogame of all time. Hell, I haven't purchased NHL14, NBA2k14 or Fifa 14 ... something that never happened until this year. And I don't care if I do. Frankly, I'm wondering if I missed the boat on Skyrim.

Played on the 360 side with some friends for most of the evening. Quite a bit of fun, should be fantastic once server issues get ironed out.

yea I got on (360) after about 20 times freezing up on the lobby screen for the initial race with Lamar. Once I was dropped into a game with other players I instantly get shot in the face. good times. In between getting clothes, ammo and visiting LS Costumes I kept getting 1 or 2 stars for no reason, I don't know if its a glitch or what. Spent the rest of the time jacking stores and driving around until I got disconnected. It can only get better from here, I hope.

So I'm still trying to do the first fucking race, I think I'm gonna scrap my character and make another one and see if I can get through it that way.

Although it hasn't told me I cant start the job or activity when I try it like it did all day yesterday. Instead it just sits at that blurry view of the city sky line. If I try a solo session it just sits there at that screen, even if I do an invite only session it does the same thing but still says Waiting for Other Players in the bottom corner.... :smh:

Just completed the race and lost. After I hit "X" to continue the game zoomed out of the map and all I heard were horns and sirens. I let it sit like that for 10 mins before shutting the game down.

Reading you guys' posts sounds an awful lot like what happened trying to do a VSN Game Night with GTA IV online for PS3. Shit was completely broken. I guess it's a good thing that I haven't been able to redbox GTA V this week. I really want to see if the online portion will make me want to buy the game sooner, but it sounds like I'd probably be wasting my time right now.

Thank you everyone for continuing to bear with us since yesterday’s initial roll out of Grand Theft Auto Online – we’re aware that a variety of technical difficulties have made it difficult to get access and that the experience has been a bit less than smooth for many of you who jumped in straight away, so here are a few updates as of this afternoon to keep you all apprised.

At the Rockstar Games Support site, there is a dedicated article listing out the most common technical issues being reported. Things are changing and developing frequently but here are some latest updates as of this afternoon:

- For PlayStation 3 users, a PlayStation Network server issue was detected that was limiting the amount of possible concurrent users. This was preventing most players from accessing GTA Online altogether and as of this morning, that problem was resolved.

- There is an issue that is preventing some players from getting through the first tutorial mission across both platforms. Many players have been able to get through this with repeated retries, and we are working on unblocking this for everyone as soon as possible.

- This morning, we experienced some instability across the GTA Online services which is affecting even people who have progressed beyond the tutorial mission. We are identifying these issues now and are working to restore stability for users as soon as possible.

- For the time being and until we have been able to get everybody access to GTA Online and things are running smoothly, we have disabled the option of purchasable GTA$ cash packs. Players can however keep on earning GTA$ by pulling off Jobs and other profitable gameplay activities rather than purchasing cash packs.

managed to get in on my lunch break, figured id boot it and let it sit. first try it took me to the starting circle, waited about 15 minutes on "waiting for other people to join the game" and then finished the race. seems like there is a job you have to do as part of the tutorial, but i didnt have time to finish it, so i left my self logged in, we'll see what happened when i get home lol

Why is the tutorial even in the game? We had the game already for two fucking weeks.

It's not like GTAIV which was the same online as offline.

The experience online with this one is vastly different. Whole new menus, features, and options to dive into. I foresee myself plenty of times having to ask for help on how to do things I missed or forgot about from the tutorial.

TIL that even if you start a 1v1 Deathmatch with some asshole that's been trolling you all game, EVERYONE ELSE on the same server as you can STILL KILL YOU.

Makes me want to kick babies when I can't get a good shot because some scrub wants to jump into an A/B Conversation with a fuckin' uzi.
