My main point was that if our defense was sooooo awesome last year too why didn't they start playing like it until Tebow got into the lineup?

I'm not touting anything. Just pointed out that he's in a better position than Tebow, which he is. Again you brought up Orton, not me. Pointing out that Orton was leading the NFL in turnovers after 5 games last year has 0 to do with what I said.

If Tebows addition the the lineup was such a significant contribution to the Defense doing better why haven't they regressed at all after he's left? I guess apparently we're bragging about how the D played better with Tebow as opposed to Orton. And about how the Broncos as a team won more games with Tebow vs Orton. This is just as inane and pathetic an argument as anything I've said in here.

Who cares? Tebow is still trash.

The hilarious thing is that Sanchez has 25 turnovers this year which I'm guessing leads the league. And in addition to that Jets as a team aren't very good at controlling the ball.

And they still won't play Tebow.

The Jets, arguably more than anyone, would benefit from a QB that doesn't turn the ball over and can control clock. Their offense has been a complete joke this year. And with their playoff lives on the line they still didn't believe this dude Tebow was the right man for the job. They even put him in and he couldn't do anything (part of it LOL playcalling by Sporano). Now when they are out of the race completely and have every reason to give players a shot to see what they can do, they still have no interest in playing Tebow.

Last year the Broncos were winning games on miracles, scraping to 8-8. This year they get a real QB and are about to win 11-13 games. Last year they beat a team by 8+ one time, they've done it in 10/11 of their victories so far this year.

Apparently (according to some on here) Tebow was the reason that Defense looked so good last year. This year their D looks just as good if not better without him.

In limited action Tebow hasn't done well with the Jets. And he's on a team where the coaching staff and GM are potentially fighting for their lives he can't even get any burn. Jets had every reason to play him, but didn't cause he's not good. Now we have to pretend its either cause the Jets couldn't see his talent (haha) or they're just too stubborn.

Tebow = garbage quarterback who's been reduced to something teams sign to generate hype and sell tickets. He's like an industry smut, teams passing him around just to say they've been with him. Jets traded for him cause their owner is an idiot and an attention whore. Now he'll eventually end up on another team looking for headlines and won't do shit there either.

Please please go to the Jags so Indy Horse can run a train on him twice a year.

I think Mike McCoy has proven himself a pretty worthy OC over the past few seasons in Denver. Tony Sporano is a fucking cavemen when it comes to the NFL in 2012. If the Jets adapt the same offense and philosophy that Denver had last season they're a much better team right now.

Maybe not as good as Denver was because that took a lot of luck and a pretty damn good kicker and punter in Prater and Colquitt who never got the credit they deserved for helping Denver make their run but still a lot better.

Tebow football is godawful to watch on TV.. And it's even worse live. But I'd take those moments he gave Denver against the Jets, Chargers, Steelers and Dolphins last year if I'm a Jets fan this season over anything Mark Sanchez or Greg McElroy has shown me.

You can't just make him a gimmick guy.. That's where the Jets fucked this up. Once he's on the field the opposing team just keys on him and blows up the play sending him back to the sideline. It doesn't take a genius DC to figure that out. It's all or nothing if you're going to play Tebow at QB. As it is for a lot of QBs in the NFL who have offenses built around them.

Is he a top 20 QB in the league? No. But I still think they win a lot more games with the Tebow offense Denver ran last year than trying to count on Sanchez again this year and use Tebow as a gimmick player.

Tebow isn't good enough to change your entire offense for. That's the problem.

Like you said he's not a top 20 QB in the league so no team sees the benefit in sitting down and installing a Tebow offense for him. He needs to get better at passing so he can run something that's closer to an standard NFL offense.

He's never going to "get better at passing". And it doesn't matter. He probably should never be starter. His unique skill set should be utilized in specialized situations, and he should only start for short periods of time when something happens to the starter.

People keep judging Tebow against other traditional QB's, and they keep missing the point. He's not a traditional QB. He's a player with unique skills who should be utilized as such. It doesn't matter if he lacks accuracy. He should never be in a position where that should matter.

Tebow's not going to be their future at QB. Why waste the last two games starting him. Give the kid two more starts and see if he has a future in the NFL. You already know what Tebow can and CAN'T do. Tebow was the jets occasional wildcat QB that they never utilized. Being the wildcat QB is why he was #2 on the depth chart, otherwise he would have been inactive. It makes complete sense to me to have the kid start the last two games.

So since Tebow has had trouble learning the position he's been playing his whole life you think he would excel at learning a new one quickly?

And as far as being an NFL FB is concerned I would consider learning to block the best linebackers, defensive lineman and defensive backs in the world for someone with no experience as a blocker even on the high school level to be a pretty arduous task.. maybe that's just me?

There is no reason Tebow can not be a very useful player on a team that properly utilizes his skill set. Again, you shouldn't put him in a position to drop back and throw complex timing routes or run a conventional offense, just as you wouldn't use a slow possession receiver to run streaks or use a change of pace scat back in short yardage 'between the tackles' situations.

The problem with many people who rip Tebow, is they are constantly being critical of the things he can't do, while ignoring what he can do. Who cares if he struggles with accuracy? He shouldn't be used in that manner anyway. It would be like complaining that Leroy Hoard has a low ypc or that Willie Gault struggles going over the middle. It doesn't matter. That's on you if you aren't using a player in a way that best exploits their skill set.

No he doesn't know how to play QB. He's got shit mechanics and is highly inaccurate. He doesn't even pass well enough to tell if he can or can't read a defense. Agreed. Properly using his skill set is somewhere other than QB.

That's on you if you aren't using a player in a way that best exploits their skill set.

It's on Tebow to learn the skill set required for a position OR change positions. Denver lost 3 out of their last 4 regular season games last. Defenses caught on. Tebow got lucky with 3 good passes against the Steelers in the playoffs. The offense Washington runs has had success because RG3 can both run and pass.

There is no way in hell I would want Tebow on the Packers unless Tebow changed his mindset. Either learn how to throw a pass or learn another position that can utilize his skill set and use him at QB in very specialized situations. Tebow should have a different primary position so that a team can utilize his talents and be the third (emergency) QB. That way a team can have 3 QB's active on game day. Then you can have a true backup QB and still be able to utilize Tebow's talents.

As just a QB, I don't think many teams with an established starter would want to use a roster spot on Tebow. I know GB (behind Favre and Rodgers) want young QB's that they can develop. They don't really want someone that has already hit their very limited potential as their backup QB. They want someone they can develop.

I still say, move Tebow to a different position. Use him at QB in very limited, specialized situations. Have him active as the H-Back/FB, wildcat QB, emergency (third) QB. Have the NFL rules changed? I know they were talking about adding another active player in order to get rid of the inactive emergency QB. If that rule hasn't changed, then you could have 3 QB's on your active roster w/o losing a roster spot IF Tebow could play a position other than QB.

But he is not an NFL caliber QB.

I sort of wish Tebow would be given a chance. We all saw what happened in Denver, so if a team is built around a strong defense and creative offensive coordinator I would like to see what could happen. That run in Denver was one of the most interesting/entertaining things I've seen in sports ever.
