7th leading scorer all time. Most 50 yard field goals. Been with one team longer than any player besides Lou Groza (just learned that actually). Very consistent player and deserves a spot.

Disagree with Sensor. Vinatieri will get in. Deservedly? Maybe not. But he will get in. Most clutch kicker of all time.
I disagree about Dawkins too. Maybe I'm taking it too far calling him a 1st ballot HOF (Dawkins is like a god here in Philly), but any NFL player who playes 13 seasons and is an 8 time pro bowler and a 4 time all pro will be a HOFer.
I guess you can question it, although I feel he's always been regarded as one of the top defensive players in the league. But he'll get in.

Hard to say. I don't think he'll get in, but he was a media-darling and was always in the postseason. I don't know if he was better than Dawkins, but I think he might be the bigger name.
IIRC, the strong safety position was pretty weak when Lynch played, so he was usually in the pro bowl every year by default. To some degree I think this is true of Dawkins, he really had no competition at the free safety spot.

I think all the bolded are borderline.
Outside of Palumalu and Reed I dont see any DB from this era getting much credit. Woodson will get preference for being on a SB winner , his little halftime speech , and his ability to blitz and tackle. Very Rod Woodsony.
WR/TE is hard to say. We have to see how it pans out for the 90s guys. Numbers game is too easy to play for Owens , Holt , Harrison , Moss etc.
I can just as easily see a rebellion or letting them all go in.

Patrick Willis would be pretty damned hard to argue against if he continues to play the way he has. Harrison is probably borderline, Rodgers and Brees are likely, especially if Rodgers continues to improve like he has.

Yeah I'm only considering players that are locks for the HOF. Players with complete HOF resume's. Like Brees, he's got great numbers, a ring, he looks very very close but I'm not exactly sure. Earlier I had him on my list, but I don't know if he doesn't need a few more years.

How many years do return specialists have to play to get in? So far I don't know of any returners to get in the HOF by being a returner only. It's usually WR/DB/RB's who just happen to have returned some kicks along the way that make it.

There are some people who deserve to get into the Hall before Jason Taylor does, but he definitely deserves to get in. I mean there is always people who deserve to get in that haven't gotten in yet, but I don't think that should be an excuse to say someone else shouldn't get in. The bottom line is if you deserve to get in then you deserve to get in, it doesn't really matter who stupid writers haven't let in for unknown reasons like Kevin Greene, Chris Carter, Ray Guy, and numerous of other players.
And Antonio Gates is easily a hall of fame lock. He is one of the best tight ends to ever play.

I'm going to put Jason on the list. 6x pro-bowls, 3x All-Pro. DPOY '06. He'a slo 8th in sacks with 132.5 career sacks, as many as Lawrence Taylor. 5 less sacks than Richard Dent, 9 less than Strahan. He's had a long productive career with few down years.
