I haven't played enough campaign to form an opinion yet but multiplayer is awesome. I had a holy shit moment with the railgun because I didn't know what it did, so I walked up behind this guy and pulled the trigger and nothing came out immediately so I was like how the hell does th....BOOM, a lifeless corpse flies off the cliff.

Yeah some of the guns confuse me and I'm not sure if I'm even using them right.

I know there is one that I just turn into a flaming pile of charcoal every time I get shot with it but I don't know what it is.

Im guessing you are talking about the binary rifle. Same class as the boltshot, light rifle, etc.

That is really fast but he probably played normal coop which is a joke and skipped all cut scenes.

From what I read most people playing single player are reporting 5-6 hours on normal, about 7 on heroic and legendary could take forever playing by yourself.

I would play it Coop on Heroic and then again on Legendary.

Swarley, Med, my wife (for the first few chapters) and I played through almost the entire game tonight on Legendary in a little over five hours. And that's counting all the restarts from deaths and having to play one level completely over because of glitches. Actual play time would probably be in the area of four hour tops. Which brings me to another issue, this game seems buggy as hell. We had several occasions where our character was teleported BACKWARDS when failing to keep up with the group. On the one particular level I mentioned it happened well over a dozen times, and then we get to this elevator and kind of freezes and kills everyone. Restart back at the beginning. Awesome.

Also, some of the check points are just horrible. I'm also not impressed with the graphics. Some stuff looks great, like stuff in the background and the weapons. But a lot of other environmental stuff just looks piss poor. Do you know how in almost any game when you get super close to a wall to something you can see all the pixelation? You can see that stuff well before you even get really close. And sometimes it's in obvious stuff that you are forced to interact with, like the pelican that you need to ride on late in the game.

I hope the multiplayer is leagues better than the campaign. But even if the multiplayer is the greatest thing I've ever played, there is no way I can see all of the ridiculously high scores this game has been getting.

Right now I'd probably give it an 8. The bug was a pain in the ass until we figured out what the problem was, but it also didn't help that the first time we came across it our 4th dude was pulling an 1ke and just standing way back and not moving. I'm not as down on the graphics as Twigg. There are some things that look awful, like that turret on the huge truck we were on and a couple other things, but other than that I think it looks pretty good. I really like the direction the story has taken. Darker than the previous trilogy (and the craptastic non-Master Chief games).

Like I said, I've enjoyed it so far. It's definitely not GOTY material, but it's still a decent/good game.

Oh, I definitely think it's a good game from what I've played, and based on what I've played I would say it's hovering around an 8 as well, assuming that the multiplayer is stellar, which from the sounds of things it is.

Bu my point is that all of these 9, 9.5 and 10 scores are just way inflated, as I initially assumed. Personally, I think there's a pretty big difference between an 8 and a 9.

Agreed. 8+ is pretty good, but with a 9+, a game would need to be worthy of GOTY discussion.

I'm enjoying the multi player so far, finally starting to get back in a groove. Had a couple of 21-8 and 25-10 games last night. The new guns are pretty cool, I REALLY like the grenade launcher type one where you can tell it when to detonate, gotten a bunch of kills with it already.

Oh, no. Not me at least. Unless something amazing happens at the end I would barely give it a 7, probably more like a 6 or 6.5. The multiplayer is what brings it to an 8.

I wouldn't put it as low as the 6's. I'm enjoying it, but I'm hoping that there's some more meat in the story at the end. I do really enjoy the darker tone of this new alien race that we've discovered.

Why is that? I was a huge Halo fan, at least through the first three games. I have a fucking MC helmet for chrissakes. This was one of my favorites gaming series of all time. I bought two fucking copies so the wife and I can both play. I would love for this game to be a 10/10.
