I do and I dont, love the guy playing injured int eh playoffs a couple years back and theres no doubt he has skill... but with Brett playing so well I think it makes things harder, WITHOUT Brett my top 5 are:

1. Manning
2. Brady
3. Brees
4. Rodgers
5. McNabb or Rivers can't decide

Honorable Mentions: Kurt Warner, Ben Roethlisberger... Palmer somewhere around there but injured too often I think Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Warner, McNabb, Rodgers, Brees are the only 7 players that should be mentioned on ANYBODY's list of top 5. rate them as you may.

I'd put him above Romo. You can blame Dallas' losses on Romo and the offense where as Rodgers puts up crazy numbers behind a shit offensive line with a marginal running game plus last year's Packers defense sucked and gave away games Rodgers had won and this year the Packers defense has pretty much been marginal when not playing Jay Cutler.(They are ranked 2nd in yards this year but 11th in points which I always put way more stock in when evaluating a defense.)

I'd put Rodgers over Romo in a heart beat.

I'm assuming because everybody looks at his WR's and already knows it's not Rivers that's benefiting from playing with Chris Chambers/Vincent Jackson (who didn't come into his own until this season)/whatever other WR he had. Outside of an awesome TE in Antonio Gates the Chargers haven't had shit at WR since Anthony Miller haha.

I'm assuming you forgot to place Rivers in that list of 7 players? I think if you're going to include Rodgers then you can include other guys like Romo.

I think any top 5 list should include only from this list: Manning, Brady, Brees, Warner, Rivers, Favre.... MAYBE Roethlisberger, McNabb.

Much as I hate the guy Rivers is a superstar and would rank in my top 3. I can't think of the last time where I said Rivers lost his team the game. He has totally transitioned that team even as LT has declined. He'll win a Super Bowl one day I just hope it's not in San Diego.

Rodgers and the Green Bay offense were FAR from the issue last year. In 2007 the team was ranked 4th in PPG. 2008 5th. The defense on the other hand went from being ranked 6th to being ranked 22nd. Ask any Packers fan or anyone who actually watched that team who the issue was on 2008 with the Packers. It sure as hell wasn't Rodgers.

Really? Which games were those? Because for each one of those I promise you I can find more examples of Rodgers leading the offense to a lead then the defense either giving up the lead in the 4th quarter or pissing it away in the final minutes.

Arizona was ranked 19th in defense, only giving up 3 yards less per game than Green Bay, yet made it to the playoffs and superbowl.

An elite Quarterback can win with a below average defense.
