How good are the Green Bay Packers?

I would have almost rather the Packers lost today so that they could be reminded that a quality opponent can beat you if you aren't focused and prepared. The longer the undefeated season goes on, the more players start to get swept up into the media frenzy and lose focus when it matters most in the post season.

They'll have HFA so I don't see a team like New Orleans keeping pace with them in what should be freezing weather in late January. I'm not sure this offense will ever let up and as long as they can catch the ball, they should be fine.

But that defense is not good. If it weren't for some great individual guys like Matthews, Woodson and Shields, they'd give up 50 points every week.

That's the way I felt about it too, a loss today would have not been a shameful one, the Giants brought it and deserve alot of credit for the way they played. in the back of my mind, pre kick off, I said to myself "OK, if we drop one here, the pressure is off, we just gotta worry about the ring." (especially with both starting ILBs out, Woodson out, and Starks being carted off) Then game time started and I was enthralled. With all due respect to the Lions, theres no excuse to lose to any teams left on the schedule. it's undefeated or 10 years of hearing about how they almost made history.

Just an electric game, and a perfect example of why, despite what people say, the NFL is as exciting as ever.

When you win by a last second field goal, that's also a wake up call. I think today's game will be very good for GB as far as them staying focused. Enough things went wrong that the coaches will have plenty to keep the players grounded and focused.

The Packers are one of the most mature and well disciplined teams in the league.

They will watch the film and they'll know they escaped with a win here and made far too many mistakes and they'll learn from it.

It doesn't seem to me like the "streak" is getting to them at all. They just go out and execute and treat every opponent with respect. If they lose, it won't be because they choked, it will be because they were outplayed and outcoached.

The scary thing is that we really haven't seen a complete game from this Packers team.

Their defense is playing average at best but they are capable of playing better.

The answer is "VERY"...

They have a QB who, right now, is playing as well as any QB in the history of the game over a similar time period. He's on another level right now and considering the team is jacked up to begin with...its a legit team, fellas. No hyperbole when saying that the Packers are a great team.

Hawk almost had a chance to play this week. Both are suppose to have minor leg muscle injuries and I expect them back next week.

Though D.J. Smith (Rookie) and Fracious (2nd year) have played pretty well considering their youth.

That is what I am worried about. The undefeated season takes on a life all its own when I all I really care about is the trophy at the end of the playoffs.

Watching the Packers is like watching a very talented basketball team where at times it almost seems as if the team decides who's turn it is to score. I'm hoping to see the Packers and Saints meet in the playoffs (I know it will be a rematch, but it should still be a good game).

The Packers have been good, but seriously look at who they've played. Outside of week one at home against the Saints which came down to the last play, what is their most impressive win? Was it last night pulling it out against the sliding Giants? Or beating an Atlanta team off to a slow start? Or a Lions team that had 4 injuries in the secondary and their best player got ejected?

They've had a joy ride of a schedule, and as pointed out earlier, they've got basically no one left until the playoffs. I'd like to see if they could beat New England, or Baltimore, or even San Francisco; instead of Minnesota twice, the Rams, Denver pre-Tebow, Carolina, Tampa. Not to mention half of those games were pretty close too.

Rodgers has been nothing short of incredible, but defensively they're above average. And say what you want, but the running game is not getting any production at all. Cold game in Lambeau against a tough, defensive-minded Niners team? I'd take San Fran.

This is a pretty good team that's caught a break with the rest of the league - specifically the NFC - being mediocre. Indianapolis during their runs have pumped out better teams than this Packers squad.

On par with the 2007 Patriots? NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Even as a fan, I dont disagree though. For a team coming off a SB, the Packers schedule turned out pretty weak. Unfortunately you can only play who the schedule makers put in front of you. Ultimately I don't care if people think we are better than the 2007 Patriots as long as the title comes home again. Its a fun debate though.
