I'd like to kick that smug fuck in the teeth. Can't wait to hear about how awesome the locomotion and sideline catching is for Madden 12.

ea is not about to rebuild a game engine that sells games. They dont care if it works right, they just care that it still sells. We all know the situation, until madden gets some competition from another developer then we are stuck with what EA gives us no matter how shitty or repetitive it is.

i would love to buy ncaa. i think the demo looks and plays better than ever. But i know what will happen. In 2 weeks it will start to feel like the same old same old as far as the games are concerned. The dynasty mode can only carry my interest for so long and for me its all about fun and realistic gameplay, which i wont get.
then 30 days after buying it i will be looking to trade it in because it will play the same as every other game has for year with the same old boring plays and BS problems.

Madden is the same but because i love the NFL so much i refuse to waste money on a game that doesnt come close to feeling like NFL football

bottom line is that EA contract needs to go and until it does we are fucked

Huh? In summary, Ian said that if they remove it/kill RC it basically gimps user catching altogether. So, what are they to do? Focus on stopping cheese tactics, or giving you the control and letting you decide whether or not you're going to abuse something in the game.

My answer to this? Deal with it. If you absolutely, wont have it, cant stand rocket catching, then dont play quick matches.

This was one part of the interview that had me raising an eyebrow. He doesn't come right out and say, "we are taking time to develop a deep single player experience for the next Madden." It's just left for us to assume it will be a focus for M12.

Physics in a football game is on a much larger scale because of the actual real possibility of 22 players colliding all at the same time in a big pile. The hardware currently would have real problems with this amount of calculation, but we definitely all agree that physics is a core part of football and we will not ignore this aspect of the game.[/QUOTE]

EA wont sit back and blow off physics much longer. It's going to happen. But I'd rather it be done right. Whether it take just a single season of development, or two.

I still dont understand why so many people single out Ian, and hate him so much. What did he do? I dont get it. Which action that he took, made you so mad? Did naivety get the best of you, and lead you to believe that Madden would be fixed as soon as he took the reigns? Could anyone do that? Fuck no. Madden was shit. You cant expect straw to be spun into gold overnight.

i hear what your saying about ian, and i dont have issue with him. But he is the man when it comes to this game and he reps EA so he takes the heat. But dont forget that ian has been a part of the team for about 5 years now at least (maybe more). He has only been the lead for a few years. So he has been a part of the shitty ass process for a long time now.

and lets not baby him too much. The physics issue is a BS excuse. 2k had great physics in there games back on ps2/xbox and that goes back 5-8 years and it carried over just fine in APF2K8.

EA knows they must go the triple play route. But because they have a profitable game and nobody to compete with that they dont and wont do that cause it would cost them time and money

We are bored of franchise mode because EA has literally done nothing for it in their next gen games. Franchise mode in Madden 07 is basically the same as Madden 10.

Franchise got a face lift in M10, didn't it? It looked different, IIRC. Maybe not so much under the hood, but it did change slightly.

It's frustrating. Theres no way of convincing someone who has been such a long standing player and fan of the mode to not be mad about it not getting better, like every other part of the game has been said to be. And even more so with the addition of other modes(more specifically OTP) that dont seem to interest really anyone. Certainly not a recognizable player we get on OS, VSN, TGT, etc.

I think the old technology Ian is talking about is just an excuse. Past Gen Madden's franchise mode was very good and NFL 2K5's franchise mode was pretty good as well. I don't know what "solid foundation and better architecture" they're talking about. If you take the bare necessities of franchise mode (season, draft, free agency) then add in in season progression like there was in the PS2 days, some sort of media like there was 'Sportscenter' in NFL 2K5, a 6 year old game btw, and you have a pretty good franchise mode. That is if you have realistic stats and a good draft. In NFL 2K5 you could adjust the quarter length so you could get the sim stats realistic and you could also edit the upcoming draft class. So if you put all that together, all things that were present in the PS2 Madden and NFL 2K days then you have a pretty damn good franchise mode. People get bored because they're franchise mode sucks so those stats mean absolutely nothing. I wanna see those same stats for Madden 05 for the PS2.
