Intresting arctilce on Favre-Thompson situation

To be fair, there was 52 seconds left at the beginning of the play. He needed roughly 60 yards to get a good shot at a field goal. Rodgers had 6+ seconds to throw and missed a clearly open Donald Driver. It was a horrible pass and inexcusable, but it's what he has always done in those situations.

I think Aaron Rodgers has a serious problem when it comes to taking sacks, and it cost the Packers dearly Sunday in Tampa. He's got 37 now. I'm not absolving a porous offensive line, but Mike McCarthy has to get it through Rodgers' head when the rush is closing in to throw it away. If I were McCarthy, I'd put on some tape of Peyton Manning today. Manning's Colts line is not a lot better than Green Bay's -- it really isn't; just watch -- and Manning's taken seven sacks. That's because Manning knows when to throw it away or go to his hot guy.

And yes, I did watch the Packers-Bucs game and Rodgers had 3 picks (as many as Favre has all year) and I do blame him for the stupid throw at the end of the game. The Packers were only down by 3 and he could have gotten the team into FG range. It was 3rd and 17, no need to heave up a duck into tight coverage.

Rodgers overthrew him and he admitted it was a bad pass. When you have a sure handed receiver, you need to give him a reasonable chance to catch the ball when he is open, something Rodgers didn't do.

No one is disagreeing with the fact that the loss should not be placed on Rodgers. Everyone knows it was the special teams and defense. I'm simply stating that, once again, Rodgers was not able to be a leader and step up when it's most important. Instead, he made a terrible pass that should have been a fairly simple completion, especially with a sure-handed Driver.
