Is Ladanian Tomlinson a HOFer

Tomlinson would have to be in a top 10 list of best RBs of all-time...he's just too productive over the years to not be.

Where the hell is Gale Sayers? I'm sorry, but when he was on, nobody--ever--could stop him. Dude could run full speed past four defenders, stop on a dime, and juke out seven more. Not only that, but he was unrivaled as a return man.

But on topic, yes, Tomlinson's going to the HoF

Gale defintely could be on the list. I had left him off due to the short length of his career, but he was probably the most spectacular runner in NFL history. I've seen lists that have Sayers as the greatest of all-time, above Jim Brown.

Whats amazing is that the huge assortment of Gale Sayers highlight runs took place in only 68 games. Thats like 4 seasons today.

I would really love to see what Gale Sayers or OJ Simpson would do in 16 games with modern fields against modern defenses.
Nothing against other runners but they in particular strike me as guys who would just rip up the modern league. There particular skill sets are perfect for today's environment.

I dont know if its lack of film (doubt it) or the infamy part. But if you ever come across OJ footage particularly a full game. Watch it he was deceptively quick. Gale had violent stops start/cuts , OJ would shift a bit and just fly past that inch he created.

I think Simpson was bigger and stronger than Gale, so he could easily brush off arm tackles without really slowing down. Gale was more elusive and wasn't really shedding tackles. OJ was more like a glider (like Eric Dickerson). I think OJ still has the fastest 100-yard dash time of any RB in NFL history. OJ could carry the ball 250+ times in a 14-game schedule and still average over 6 yards per carry.

Agree this except one thing. OJ wasn't "deceptively quick", he was just damned fast.

And if he were playing today, Sayers probably would have had a longer, more fulfilling career.
