CAGcast #218 had me rolling earlier. They opened the show talking about how they can't believe how so many people are dumb enough to buy this thing. The blame it on Oprah. LOL.
Later in their show they went into their opinions of the new dashboard. Cheapy said he is indifferent but Shipwreck and Wombat hate it. They have the some complaints that many of us here do. Mostly all the white and how there is more bullshit to wade through.
I also lost it when Wombat said "Why the fuck do you need a cable compnay that offers ESPN 3 in order to get it on you Xbox? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Why the fuck would I want to watch the shit through my 360 when I can just watch it on my tv?"

actually a little clarification you cant "watch" espn 3 on the tv unless your tv is hooked up to your cpu as "espn3" formerly known as espn360 is not a tv show but a hub for streaming live and past events and you need an isp that has a licensing agreement with espn. *The entire service is paid by the individual as a part of their ISP cost, whether they use the service or not

He was wrong then. I found it funny that all three of the hosts, one living in Japan, one in New York and one in Ohio, and none have access to the ESPN3 content.

I was just gonna post about this (though I had not heard about the rejection). I was curious to how they planned to use Kinect. Was hoping maybe for a glimpse into how the new device could be incorporated into a game that would interest me.
Then i came here and see it was denied. Kinect goes back to a device that I can't see using outside of exercise games (where I think it would be great). Certainly not worth a purchase though.

I could see a game like Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six making use of it. Those assholes pretty much abandoned voice commands over mics and any kind of tactical approach.
Using hand signals and voice commands would be one great way.
Holding down the left trigger currently puts you in "cover" letting you physically sway in and out of it would be nice.
Doesnt all have to be lightguns and cheesiness.

I'm about a week behind with all my podcasts so the ones I have been listening to have been very Kinect related. It's crazy how much these guys are ripping the thing to shreds. They basically all say the same thing, that the tech is cool but no one now is really using it intelligently and it doesn't look like they probably ever will. They say the launch lineup is one of the worst launches in the history of games.
Plus the room you need, as expected, is absolutely ridiculous. A guy on the Giant Bombcast was talking about how he basically completely rearranged his living room for Kinect and has 7-8' of room all around yet in Kinect Adventures there were still sections on the game that couldn't recognize his foot because he was too close. But he could move any further away.
Supposedly the Fight game and Sonic game are complete travestys.
Plus the room you need, as expected, is absolutely ridiculous.
