I've been hogging the game TV with AC:B anyway, so they don't get a chance to play much.

i thought about getting one. but that thought left later that day. maybe in a year when they have some developed shit that works very well. its just like owning a new console and waiting years for good games.

thats why i am in no rush for a new console on the market. i hate waiting until year 2 for real quality games. i remember i got my 360 in april 07 and it took until fall of 07 for any quality games to play. with the ps3 i didnt have that problem because when i got it te console had been out for over a year. plus i got the show and that made buying the system worth it

One of the podcasts I lisren to consistently, Gamer Husbands, the lead guy had to take a second job in retail recently. He has never said where to my knowledge but all signs point to Best Buy. Anyway, during one if their recent podcasts he mentioned how tons of people come into his store wanting a Kinect "just because tbey heard about it". Most of them didnt even know it had to be hooked up to a 360 console. I can assure you they dont even know how much room they need to properly operate the thing.

Its all marketing. Sometimes I think MS could sell shit sandwiches to these sheep.

Anyways one of his comments today was how he thought it was awesome the xbox could play dvds and how he didn't need his dvd player anymore.

Forgot to mention that on New Year's Eve I played Kinect Sports with a pretty large group of people, it was a pretty fun party game I have to admit.

My real life ping pong skills paid off, I was undefeated

Of course it did a terrible job of recreating real ping pong, but that didn't mean it wasn't fun.

Hacking Microsoft’s Kinect seems to be a worldwide fad right now, but this latest repurposing might be the most practical ever. A group of graduate engineering students at the University of Washington have hacked a Kinect so it can help doctors perform surgery.

University of Washington’s newspaper, The Daily, details the students' work, which involved writing new code for Microsoft’s Kinect that allowed it to interface with their robotic equipment and basically send feedback about a patient’s body position back through the system. Because of this tracking, the students were able to workout where important internal organs were and prevent the machines from cutting too deep.

“We could define basically a force field around, say, a liver,” said Howard Chizeck, University of Washington’s professor of electrical engineering. “If the surgeon got too close, he would run into that force field and it would protect the object he didn’t want to cut.”
