6. Cain Velasquez​

Cain Velasquez aka The Mexican Fedor in the number 6 slot, Cain has the most relentless pace I have ever seen from a HW with the cardio to match, I don't see any current HW's in the UFC that can beat him any time soon, he is a better wrestler than anyone in the division, also better cardio which is a huge advantage at HW, no one can keep up with the pace he sets

Cain still uses his wrestling base combined with his ever improving striking skills, the American Kickboxing Academy product just keeps getting better and the way he was brought up in the sport was almost perfect, he was able to work on his game and refine his skills while still winning, his confidence never took a hit and he fought threw a couple tough fights along the way, almost completely opposite of the man he beat for the title

9-0 with 8 TKO’s, only making it to the 3rd round once in his career, after a couple more fights he will most likely be in the top 5, possibly top 3 with the way he is going

First on the SNUB list is Shiyna Aoki, I will say this first, I love watching Aoki fight, most innovative and brutally honest submission game in MMA, if GSP had Aoki’s submission killer instinct Dan Hardy’s arm would be planted in the middle of Canada like a flag right now

Aoki might have been on this list even with his crying after being KO’d or losing, I love his passion, but the Nagashima 'fight' was just too much for me, I won’t blame him for taking a fight he shouldn’t have, it probably was more the fault of his management and DREAM, but Aoki showed no budo in that fight, after running away and flopping around during the striking part, he then comes out and gets KO’d in the 2nd round, what a brutal performance from a high level fighter, if he was not Japanese I might even give him a pass, but that’s not the way they fight

Sorry Aoki, you will need to break some more limbs to get back in my good graces

Wow. That's a pretty big snub. Granted his act in that Nagashima fight was incredibly shameful, it was a gimmick match and that shouldn't overshadow all the appendages he took home in MMA. But it does, so I agree and disagree at the same time.

Does this mean Melvin Manhoef will make an appearance on this? :shifty:

I make the tough decisions and this was a tough one, Jose Aldo is probably a phenom, but I liked him better as a challenger than a champ, since winning the title with a destruction of Mike Brown, Jose seems to be in ‘coast’ mode, he had Uriah dead to rights and let him off the hook, not much happening with Manny until the KO, that’s more Manny not having a chin, than he put a hurting on Hominick until Hominick cameback and won the 5th, to young to start coasting IMO

Jose doesn’t seem to have the gas tank for the fighters who can take a beating or the same killer instinct he had as a challenger, not sure what it is, maybe the poor kid from Brazil got some cash and now he sees his name in lights, who knows, also would love to see him fight Particio, Warren, and Hioki, but that won’t happen anytime soon, maybe Hioki if we are lucky

Jose should be on this list, I wil take the heat, but I need to see the same kid that was KO’ing people with double knees, not 5 rounds of leg kicks to a wounded animal

5. Dan Henderson​

Dan Henderson makes the top 5, Dan is an interesting case for this list, earlier is his career he got the nickname 'Decision Dan' and that's fine, but Hendo has some of the best KO's of all time racked up since then, the most memorable/brutal would be at UFC 100 against Michael Bisping which was as close to a decapitation you will see in the cage

Henderson is arguably the greatest American Mixed Martial Artist of all time, Dan has fought a who’s who of MMA legends and fought anywhere from MW to HW during his career. He is coming off 2 straight TKO wins over Babalu and Feijao and is currently looking to fight Fedor in July, which would just add to his list

Dan isn’t the most technical striker, but he has honed his right hand into one of the most devastating weapons and signature strikes in MMA, combined with his wrestling background and granite chin he is a tough fight for anyone in any weight class

Fedor, Fedor, Fedor, this guy is made for a list like this, 1 lose you can still make it on the list, 2 in a row, no dice comrade

I just don’t see the fire in Fedor anymore, don’t see the training either, got sloppy against Werdum, let Big Foot double leg him in seconds start of the 2nd round, still had the fight and heart to take a beating from a guy with 50 lbs on him for an entire round, but the desire to be the best just isn’t there anymore, maybe he gets it back his next fight, I will be watching…

4. 'Shogun' Rua​

If I had to describe Shogun in one word it would be 'violence', when Shogun is at top form with minimal rules he is one of the most dangerous fighters of all time, during his Pride days he completely destroyed the best fighters in the world, kicks, punches, knees, kicks, soccer kicks, foot stomps, you name it, head were rolling in Japan

His UFC run has been a mixed bag, tough loss to Forrest, than an underwhelming fight against Mark Coleman, followed up by classic Shogun minus the soccer kick that was in the chamber against Chuck Liddell. Shogun than got the call to fight the ‘unbeatable’ Machida for the title, Shogun completely changed up his game plan and won/lost a decision to Machida, but Shogun put a dent in the armor of Machida, than in there rematch he dropped the game plan in the first fight and TKO’d Machida and became the UFC 205 champ

Shogun than fought Jon Jones after another long layoff, the size difference was huge and Shogun just took a beating from a young hungry fighter catching a flying knee early and it was downhill from there, but 1 as the champ won’t keep Shogun off this list, Shogun is violence and I love it
