If any of you fuck head so would do the simplest research you would see that the Clippers were good enough to be 5th seed when healthy. They were above .500 when eveyrone was healthy. Plus., wtf does only having one player still on our roster form 2006 have anything to do with us being a good team?

Because that was the last time the Clippers were semi-decent. I'm rooting for the Clippers to do something but I am also being a realist, you have a completely different team than 2006 and this current team haven't proven to be winners yet.

It's really stupid when people say the Clippers suck, when half the team was hurt last season. Baron, EG, Kaman are all very good players. If Baron can play like he did in GS, this team will be good. Just because the franchise is bad doesn't mean the team will be. If they use Baron,EG, Thornton,Blake,Kaman, thats already a great lineup.

Theres a good balance of offense and defense. Throw in Camby off the bench? This team is just as good as half the teams in the NBA if not more. This team has loads of potential and if they use it correctly they can be a dangerous team. People don't take the time to actually look at the team, they just assume they are gonna suck since they are a bad franchise.

To be fair, you just looked at the team, saw decent talent, and assumed a bunch of random talented players could be a great lineup. If only it were that simple....

Yes, the Los Angeles Clippers are having talks with Allen Iverson. But a signing does not appear imminent, because Iverson is still chafing at the idea of coming off the bench. Sources confirmed the Los Angeles Times' report that the team has offered Iverson a one-year deal at the mid-level exception of $5.8 million for next season. But, those sources said, Iverson remains reluctant to take a reserve role, which would be behind incumbent Baron Davis at the point or Eric Gordon at the two, just as he chafed in Detroit this past season playing behind Rip Hamilton. Even though Iverson would like to play in a big city, or, at the least, for a contending team, he's given no indication yet that he'd be any more willing to be a bench player in Los Angeles than he would be elsewhere.

The issue with Iverson is that he wants to start and continue to get his 17-20 fga per game. IMO this is why he is reluctant to go to Miami, because he knows its Wade's team and Wade gets the shots. I sort of just wish no one would sign him so that he could just retire, because at this point in his career with his mentality he doesn't have much to offer any team.

The thing is. If the Clippers sign Iverson, its either a win/win, or a lose/lose situation. The good thing is that its just a one year deal. The a bad thing is that A.I. doesn't want to come off the bench. I personally think he'd be a great 6th man for any team because of his ability to play the 1 and the 2. But, we'll see what happens.

this is will only work if AI comes off the bench. you cant hamper the development of gordon, thorton, and griffin for a shot at the 6th seed in the west. AI isnt getting them a ring or even 2 winning seasons. if the clips want consistency they should go after solid backups to fortify that weak ass bench.

but if AI agrees to take a lesser role then yea this is going to be huge.

Clippers started off 4-16 through their first 20 games. Clippers WERE never ever above .500 the entire season, hell they weren't even close. Clippers had a 12 game losing streak mid season, where they had a very healthy team consisting of : Baron, Eric Gordon, Al Thornton, Zach Randolph, and Marcus Camby.

I did the research, what did you want me to see that was so golden last season? No, it doesn't even have to be golden, what did you want me to see that showed me that the Clippers have any chance of being remotely close to the playoffs?

Im not saying that dumb ass. They were never all healthy baron started out injured, so did Kaman. Kaman missed basically the whole season. Same goes for Camby and ZBO. What I meant was that our record was at .500 when we were all healthy.

What I was going to say. In theory picking up Iverson may sound great if you can make him the 6th man... but we all know that he refuses to come off the bench, as he showed both in Detroit and in Philly.

Charlotte is the only team that I could see signing him and not result in a disaster because Larry Brown is the coach, and Iverson would know what to expect from him.
