Madden 10 Demo Impressions

Haven't played the demo yet 1 min qtrs just doesn't seem worth it. What is the "general consensus"? Good, bad, indifferent? Anything glaringly wrong/messed up.

NCAA 10 is a snooze fest and I'm really hoping Madden delivers.

I haven't even put NCAA back in since I got the 5 minute demo...

Im the polar opposite of most of you i guess i tried the demo 2x once as AZ and once as Pitt, it sent me running back to NCAA and i havent picked the demo back up since then. I really dont like the gameplay. I'll try it again later and hope it can change my outlook.

I actually like the demo better than NCAA. I just keep getting my ass handed to me on all madden. Alot better than being able to score 40+ on all madden in previous years tho.

After reading a bunch of posts in here I just tried a game on All-Pro... felt a lot better to me, and I ended up losing on an 80 yard Willie Parker toss play in overtime. I'd give it a shot if I were you.

I'd imagine I'll play all madden once the game comes out and we have control over sliders and can thus tone down some things, but I'm liking AP much better for the demo.

i tried playing with the difficulty turned all the way up and couldn't throw an accurate pass to save my life.. everything was 10-15 yards long or just completely offline.. i guess i'm doing something wrong.. hopefully i'll figure it out in practice mode when i get the game..

Man, is passing timing based? Cause i get sacked a SHIT LOAD of times. I like playing Defense better on Madden 10 but i like playing offense more on NCAA, i at least have time, less than 2 secs im hit. I use line adjustments and it makes it worse.

Any suggestions?

Well remember both the Cardinals and Steelers offensive lines aren't that good.

I just rewatched the Superbowl this weekend (I'm in Arizona for my sister's wedding, her new husband has all four Cardinals playoff games DVR'd)... Harrison and Docket were in Warner and Big Ben's faces all day. Both lines were folding like a paper plane play after play.

I've made it no secret I think Madden is lightyears ahead, but i couldn't quantify it. The same new tech, really... it's just tuned for a different style of game. Game speed and pass speed are huge game changers, as are the new route running animations.

I think the pass speed is the biggest thing. It's going to feel like the ball is hanging a lot at first, but after a while you'll start to realize how much more realistic it is.

You can put DB's in on the wildcat... I used Dominique Rodgers Cromartie on it... Thats epic cheese.

What's DRCs Elusiveness, Juke Move, and Carry? Speed isn't going to do it alone anymore.

by the way, i like how easier is to pass then last year, and QB's are more accurate

The only "problem" I really noticed was during the Superbowl game. It's played on a neutral field, yet the crowd still obviously cheers for whoever is designated the "home" team. (which by default is the Cardinals in the demo) You can even switch the teams around in the choose your team screen and the crowd will do the defensive chants and stuff for the Steelers instead.

NCAA and Madden have both had that issue for years. Pisses me off. Rewatching the Superbowl this weekend, the crowd got equally loud for both teams (I think a lot of people who weren't fans of either team started out rooting for the Steelers but switch sides because they wanted to see the miracle comeback that Arizona was on the verge of pulling off).

As long as the game will be able to increase the speed, it should be sweet (demo feels a bit too NCAA-like for my tastes in that sense).

Not sure but with Boldin i was struggling to pull off a 3 yard gain and then i put DRC in and he's busting off 10, 15, 20 yard gains. I know DRC's speed, agility, and acceleration is 96, 98, 97 compared to Boldin's 89, 92, 88. But all i did was run around the corner like 3, 4 times and it was against my friend that came over. I really didn't make any moves.

This is interesting to me. I feel like its too slow sometimes, like I cant get the ball to a player fast enough. I wonder when I'll realize its more realistic. After I stop playing NCAA 10? lol

I feel the same, but im starting to get used to it... sorta, Romo fing sucks in this game. But Warner and Roethlisberger make every throw.

I'm improving my abilities running the Cardinals offense and trying to run a spread. Passing is harder than it was last year but I'm getting better.

Also running out of the shotgun with Chris Wells is very difficult.

In NCAA 10, every QB throws the equivalent of around 70 MPH. That blows Favre away by a good 10 MPH.

One thing is driving me fucking nuts. After every play, or if I pick a wrong formation and back up it always goes back to the "combo" formation with the Steelers. No matter what. Why doesn't it just go back to the formation I was in?

I dunno, but that feels like one of the things that would be caught b4 the game was finished. I'd be suprised if it was like that in the final version
