Madden '25 Interview with EA's Josh Looman

I will be in Austin, TX next Tuesday (5/21) to visit EA Tiburon's studio and interview Josh Looman (CFM Czar) on the upcoming release of Madden '25. The specific area of interest will be the Connected Franchise Mode (Connected Careers in Madden '13) and the enhancements coming in August for the game as a whole, such as the Infinity 2.0 Engine.

The EA reveal for Connected Franchise is the night of 5/20 and I will be asking questions based on what we see that night and also select questions submitted from members here at VSN.

Will the EA CC website still be a non functional POS?

Will they finally have randomly generated draft classes and by that I mean each CC has diff players that cant be scouted via a cheat sheet because the players in the draft classes are not predetermined.

Can you save and upload replays at the end of games like you could in 12?

Will they have full explanations of what each attribute does and the significance to each position so XP can be allocated appropriately. i.g. Does AWR effect user controlled QB's, does the RB BCV and AWR effect the OL ability to block etc, does AWR effect anything more than the OVR for a defensive player

What is the diff in play recognition and awr and what does it effect from position to position?

Does a player coldstreak effect the performance of other players? If your RB is on a cold streak will it effect your OL ability to block for him?

Why cant a good game break a cold streak but one bad game can put you on a cold streak for several games?

Will we be able to practice as much as we want with our Connected Franchise team?

This. As in can we practice or even play exhibition games vs other teams in the league that doesnt award XP or injuries.

Will the commissioner of CCMs be able to throw out results of games, reset or have the power to determine the winner in a sim?

Will the CCM website have FULL functionality similiar to what NCAA has? IE: ability to trade, scout, advance the week, etc. Also full stat tracking that is easy to look up.

In offseason will we have the proper notification for player retirements, for your team and league wide? IN past franchises there was a screen that told you exactly who was retiring before you started your offseason duties. This way you weren't blindsided by retirements like in 13.

Will there be more realistic goals pertaining to XP for backups? Backup's game and season goals should be on a lower scale when compared to starters.

Great question, this would make online CCMs a much better experience if they added this

why don't they make a more in-depth effort with home and away classic uniforms ? they seem to do a lot but its a mess. Some have a lot some have only the home version and not away version. In some cases they don't look well researched or the colors aren't sharp at all.

will there come a time when my receiver is behind ( running ahead of ) his defender and the QBs pass will actually go over the defenders head to the receiver instead of into a force field that puts the ball in the defenders hands ?

Good questions guys, keep them coming. I was hoping that we would have gotten the new defensive video last night but that didn't happen. Most of the real Madden gamers were looking for that one so much as they are the CFM reveal coming on Monday. If that one gets delayed, the social media backlash will be severe.

how about the ability to update ratings on players during any season in CCM for players that are clearly much better (or worse for that matter), after NFL season progresses. this shouldnt just be available for "play now" online of offline.
the ratings for players like A. Peterson, Wilson, RGIII and Morris were ridiculously low......
and players like D.Ware was a ridiculous beast and sucked this year.

also ; gaining XP really sucks unless you whoring via user control for WR, QB, HB/FB, TE, and any defensive position.
OL gets no love.......takes for ever to gain XP for OL.

XP whoring needs to be addressed.

a better way of understand, handling and adjusting sliders to be more effective. playing around with sliders for the last 7 months and the shit still broke.

a better use of reference and guideline for where and how XP is spent on Attributes for any player and position.
its total BS to to spend a ton of XP on AWR on a 85+ OVR Safety who runs the other way when a WR/TE catching and running for a TD.
like;
"spend XP to increase a players XXXXXXX rating.....", means nothing without the advantages/disadvantages, the benefites and effectiveness.

1) Why did EA fail to deliver CFM info on the 6th?
2) Why did EA fail to deliver Defense info on the 13th?
3) After saying on the 13th it'll come tomorrow and you're sorry, why did EA then fail to deliver on the 14th?





In all seriousness, there's one area that EA/Madden never fucks around with...the marketing. But the past 8 days have been utterly pathetic for their marketing of Madden 25. Never in all the years I've played Madden have I seen this kind of a disaster in marketing the game. EA is falling apart.

Kick Returners be able to make the pro bowl this year?
Best Linebacker award be put into the game?
Will other players be able to make the hall of fame besides the first ballot guys?
