I don't think anyone thought that Tim Carter and Ronald Curry were going to be impact players. It is funny how you fail to mention the trade for Robinson, who looked great until his injury. Also failed to mention the Gibson acquisition, which appears to have been a great trade.
I didnt mention the Robinson or Gibson moves because those have appeared to work out.
I mentioned the bad moves, because of this particular point you keep making:

I'm still struggling to see what poor moves the Rams have made since Devaney took over?
You can downplay the Brian Leonard-for-Orien Harris-for-Ronald Curry debacle all you want, but that was an AWFUL chain of moves that resulted in trading Brian Leonard for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. One of the Rams glaring holes this year was no backup RB, so Steven Jackson was overused, to the point of abuse, yet again. Leonard had a nice year as a reserve for Cincy, and Bengal fan can back that up.
And Curry most definately was expected to be an "impact player", because both Spags and Devaney expected him to win a startiing job. Well, that didnt work out.
And how about the total mismanagement of the WR position all year long? How many weeks did Spags go into games with 3 or 4 WR's, only to see guys get hurt, and run out of players...finishing games with only 2 WR's, completely fucking whatever inept gameplan they had to begin with?
How about cutting Chris Draft, over what amounted to a 100k savings? A good locker room leader, and a guy who certainly could have helped both on the field when we were playing guys off the street, and also in the locker room with the young LB's?
I don't care that they cut Orlando Pace, who cant stay healthy and cant play anymore, or Torry Holt, who asked to be cut. But these little mismanagements of the roster don't give me any confidance moving forward.
Here is what the Rams have done so far this offseason:
-Signed a QB for $3M per year who hasnt taken a snap in years (AJ Feeley). You can downplay that and say he's a backup, but I promise you he will start multiple games, especially if they fuck up the Suh sweepstakes and take some shitbag never-will-be like Bradford or Clausen.
-Lowballed the second best player on the team, and the onoy other playmaker they have (OJ Atogwe), with the mimimum tender. Now, when he inevitably signs elsewhere, the Rams get NOTHING in return. Re-signing Craig Dahl shows they probably dont want to pay Atogwe the $6 or $7 mil he will get, and thats fine, but at least tender him higher and get something in return when someone bites. MORONIC, STUPID, and JUST PLAIN MIND BLOWING how this can occur.
-Signed a 33 year old DT coming off a bad year for $5M per (the immortal Fred Robbins)
-Last but not least, word out of STL is that they are considering bringing back Richie Incognito, a headcase who Spags FINALLY showed some balls with and cut, sending a messege to the rest of the team. I praised Spags for that, and now they want him back. Why on earth would you bring that guy back to your locker room?
Unless you are the optimistic type, I don't see how anyone can get the idea that this regime is moving in the right direction. For every good move, they make 2 bad ones. I will give them a clean slate for 2010, and assume the old ownership had alot to do with some of the puzzling money based decisions last year, but my patience is running thin despite the fact year two barely started a week ago. This isnt 1970, you don't get 5 years to turn things around. I'm ready to move on from these clowns if we dont see drastic improvements this year. It may not be fair, but thats the modern NFL.
