i said i got burned out on games like 2 months ago...ME3 was back in January, so you are mistaken. How is me saying couldnt even alot of bitching about the game? thats the only negative comment i made about ME3
as for the cash grab, well, i guess we disagree on what a cashgrab is. any box set is a cash grab. Music, movies, games...its all about milking a product for every cent. You cant fault the developers for it because its business. But imo, its bad for the gaming industry and the buyers because all it does is allow companies (like EA) to not have their developers develop quality products.
Fair point. I suppose "couldn't even", to me, give the impression that the game was so bad that you couldn't get through it. When at the part I last remember you commenting about, the game's problems hadn't even begun to present itself. Either way, I still disagree that this is what is ruining the gaming industry. These boxed sets have no effect on game development because they are never arranged by the same guys that actually produce the games (those guy's are already working on either DA3, a new ME, or whatever new IP they have).
This is not the same issue as sequels, which I don't entirely agree are bad for the game industry, but do agree that they are getting a bit much. Unfortunately, it's always going to be this way because of how much a game costs to make, and how little even a "successful" new IP makes (look at Kingdoms of Amalur, considered successful, but still didn't sell well). The indie game movement is where it's at because it costs less to make those games and it has less pressure form publishers to make something that sells a certain amount.
Boxed sets have nothing to do with it. Whether it's a cash grab or not has no effect on the game industry as a whole, IMO.
