McShay sucks, but to be fair, its waayyyyyyy too early to put out a mock. I have no clue what he is thinking with the Eagles taking an OT in the draft. We signed Peters to a long-term, huge, contract. We gave Justice a 4 year extension during the season. So this pick makes no sense. Also, both Andrews brothers will be back next year (that is if Shawn decides to stop being a bitch).

Plus Vladimir Ducasse isn't even athletic enough to play Tackle, and he isn't talented enough to be one of the top 5-10 guards taken in the draft. If the Eagles don't bring Shawn back, and don't think Stacy is good enough, then they can draft a talented guard like Jon Asamoah or Mike Johnson in the second or third round. The Eagles first concern though should be Outside Linebacker or Corner, because Gocong and Akeem Jordan are free agents at the end of the year, along with Ellis Hobbs, and Sheldon Brown might want out. Of course the Eagles being the team they are would say Joselio Hanson is good enough for the second corner spot, and Macho Harris is good enough for the nickle instead of spending first round money on one.

I like the CJ Spiller pick. And thats about the only thing I like about this Mock Draft.

CJ Spiller would answer all our returning duty problems. Not to mention an amazing 3rd down/compliment back. He'd basically run Brandon Jackson out of town. Then Lumpkin can finally get a shot on this team at the #3 spot.

Exactly. McShay is nothing more than a talking head for Scouts Inc. That's it.

Kiper built his business from the ground up and while most people form their opinion of him on 90 second blurbs on ESPN if they would actually pick up his draft guide and see the detail and work that both he and his company put into it they'd have a much different opinion.

I've always put a hell of a lot more into Kiper's opinion than I have McShay's. I find it odd that McShay has such a problem with Jimmy Clausen's attitude seeing as McShay has the same damn attitude himself.

Never said he was but I find it hilarious that people downgrade Kiper and elevate McShay based on 90 seconds on ESPN rather than actually looking at the all the other work Kiper does and how it pounds McShay into the ground.

I will agree though that Mayock>>McShay

Kiper does deep mocks all the time. On top of that McShay is utterly useless after the 1st Round as an analyst. Once his "Top 5" at each position are gone in the first round or two you might as well have a brick sitting in his chair. Outside of analysis of those players(who are analyzed to death by anyone and everyone making McShay even more "meh") he doesn't offer anything.

Kiper has the ability to offer something on each player taken in the entire draft. He has an amazing scouting network and an amazing ability to gather and retain that knowledge. There's a reason you don't see McShay after the early 2nd Round and Kiper is still there until the last pick in Round 7.

First...Why would anyone waste a draft pick on Tim Tebow? What the fuck are you going to do with him? Put his position on the roster as "Overly emotional PMS'ing crying motivational speaker" ? Because that's about all he'll ever be able to do for you in the NFL.

The team that will do this is jacksonville, knowing that are losing the their city and possibly 3-5 years down the road might lose the team if this keeps up they are desperate. They draft tebow and by some strike of lightning he becomes a good QB... Well they just won the city back.

And I'm a Tebow hater just as much as anyone else but... If you look at vince young in the NFL he isn't (normally) making the crazy passes he just knows how to win games and does it however he needs to... You can't argue that Tebow is a winner I believe in the NFL Tebow will find a way to win.

Kiper deserves props for building his niche business into a multi-million dollar business. However, Kiper is no more qualified to give his opinion on players as anyone else on this board. The guy started his business in college and was able to catch on with ESPN.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is knowledgeable - but, he has no training as a scout, never worked in the league, etc. Just had an opinion and found a hell of a way to market it.

i agree with this. with the loss of arron smith this year the d-line went to shit. hampton isnt getting any younger and chris hoke is not his successor. i would like to see us get some help at db, but since i dont follow college that much i dont know if there is one who is a first round talent.

I have to believe that had to play into his decision to not go out this year. I know McShay hypes him up like crazy, but there is no way Locker, if NFL guys thought that highly of him, would go back to school.

If any of you have ever talked to scouts, you'd know that each one of them has a different opinion on a player. There are a select few players every year with a consensus opinion on them...those tend to be the elite players.

Kiper and/or McShay are just another opinion on top of the scrap heap...they are more criticized than the scouts because we see every single pick of theirs...the boards for NFL teams can be just as bad and wrong as McShay/Kiper and we'd never know.

Kiper with "no experience" on the pro level and those with experience at the pro level (now in the media...Mayock, Gill Brandt) basically say the same shit anyway...so I am not certain how either differenciates themselves from one another.

Funny enough, we'll all criticize Kiper for having Mike Williams rated as a top 5 player and claim "he doesn't know shit"...but the Lions fuggin took him in the Top 10. Or, Kiper doesn't know shit, because he rates Ryan Leaf as the #2 player...but the fuggin Chargers took him #2 overall...

Where did you hear / read that?

The first mock of McShay's I saw he had Locker going top 10. Then he removed him after the announcement. I don't recall if he was the top QB, but he was definitely slated top 10 in the first draft of the mock and he called him a blend of Steve Young and John Elway.
