No, I hate Gears. All of the stuff I'm pumped for is multiplatform, but I don't have a PS3.

Games like Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, LA Noire, Child of Eden, Deus Ex, Rage, and Portal 2 should be amazing.

Also, I'm very interested in The Old Republic. In general, I'm against MMOs and subscription-based gaming, but this game just might get me.

COD BO may sell a billion $ worth but every casual dickhead thinks *angry birds* when they think about games. Epic is already spending alot of time and effort into making unreal engine nice and neat for the douchepad and android.
MS concentrating on a market that seems incapable of producing anything other than bootleg children's games is worrisome.
That PS3 list might as well be dubbed games noone will give a shit about. The same list of games was supposed to make waves 2-3 years ago and noone gave a fuck then.
Portal 2 and GOW 3 are the only things I'm excited about. They are also monumentally easy for them to fuck up.
Yup I love halo...cod..gow... but I'm bored to tears with what's out there and what's coming up. Unless someone comes up with some insane way to use motion tracking with 3D displays 2011 is much of the same Ol same Ol.
6 year old hardware = boredom.
Smartphones will have gpu power equal to ps3 / 360 by years end ...there's a race for 3d interfacing. Consoles seem asleep at the wheel.
PC gaming is so dead it no longer has anything to force consoles into the next Gen so no hope there either.

They are all looking for the next big thing that will intrigue the younger generation. These motion games are all about group interaction and family gaming. But these are games mostly geared towards young kids and their parents who can play without it being to advanced for them.

the industry will still keep pumping out games for the hardcore gamer, but the trend has also shifted bigtime into making a game that can be copied several times over. This allows them to Madden a product for a steady flow of revenue while they focus on developing these new technologies.

Look at black ops compared to COD4. its essentially the same game and the devs dont have to invest much money into its new features and they make a shitload off of it. But if you want more proof every one of those games has over an 80 on Metacritic. So between reviews and sales I think it's easy to say they are quality games. To say "no one gives a shit about them" it's a fucking joke. But the mere fact alone that these games sell millions means OBVIOUSLY someone cares about them.

Its like comparing a Palm Pre to iPhone 4 you cant point to a million reviews but seriously Im talking about anticipation and desire for upcoming games. You can harp all you want but those games are mostly sequels to other games that were hyped for no reason. Heck you could say KZ2 was the biggest flop this console gen. The amount of promise and hype given to it and what it actually delivered were worlds apart.
PS3 is in the position its in because most of those titles simply were enough to draw attention.

I think Killzone doesn't get enough credit for being an upper-echelon FPS. I only played a little of KZ2 at a friend's house, but it was gorgeous and I certainly enjoyed it more than CoD.

Didn't play the first LBP, but the amount of freedom Media Molecule has put into their creation engine is pretty damn impressive for #2. But if platformers aren't really your thing, that's that I guess.

As for Killzone, which FPS games do it better? I really like BFBC2, but other than that I have a hard time coming up with any.

Killzone 2 is/was a fucking awesome game. The online is great too.

LBP is in a fucking league of it's own as far as the creation aspect is concerned. And LBP2 is going to shit all over the original.
