I guarantee not a single person sitting in the marketing and management rooms of Microsoft give two shits about the 9,000 units the WiiU moved in Japan. They look at NA, see a 2:1 ratio, pat each other on the backs, and leave the room.

I don't doubt that and you see where that kind of myopic vision has placed MS in the current console war.

of course a $180 (retail) unit is going to have sold more units than a $500 retail unit.
but look at the $$

3DS - 2.1 mil
Bone - 2.8 mil

compare the bone to the wii u
Wii U - 1.1 mil

when you flood the market and have 4 different units compared to a company with 2, of course Nintendo will look like they are out selling units.

Yes it was myopic to stop their sales in Japan where they were losing a bunch on packaging and shipping for the consoles to sit on shelves :wat:

Probably, Xbox and Xbox 360 didn't sell worth shit in Japan and i really don't think the Bone will sell there either so thats already gonna be hundreds of thousands of no sales.

The XBOX One doesn't appeal to the common consumer to be honest, nobody wants that stupid ass camera mine is just collecting dust. And cable features? Are cool just not $100 extra cool. Titanfall isn't going to save the XBOX One.

Also with the news of Elop taking over the division and investors wanting M$ to dropout of hardware and focus on software it'll be interesting to see how much more money M$ will pump into this stuff.
