It's quite laughable after Square bitched and moaned about their unrealistic sales goals for the reboot and then go out and sign exclusivity for their game (and then Sony reveals they're already over 10 million consoles sold to consumers). Hope they got a small country out of this deal.

If people bought systems based on games instead of spec sheets then it wouldn't be an issue. Everyone would have an XB1 and be able to enjoy good games instead of being left out.

Can't really compare PC. People go PC because it's superior for gaming in every facet. What games does PS4 have that tops the Xbox's library?

You know darn well plenty of people bought a PS4 for inFAMOUS: Second Son and MLB 14: The Show.

Why are you making this a console argument? I said in my very first post this was a great move on Microsoft's behalf b/c they'll likely get some console sales directly b/c of this game. I'm saying that Square Enix likely made a poor decision.

Square Enix has now put this game in direct competition with Uncharted 4 for fall/holiday of 2015. PS4 already has a much better install base. Uncharted 3 sold over 6 million copies on one console while it took 5 different platforms (PC, 360, PS3, XB1, PS4) for Tomb Raider to reach the 6 million mark. Those PS4 people that you may have swayed to pick up an XB1 to play Tomb Raider now don't feel so left out when they have Uncharted coming out at the same time. And all of this coming off of Square complaining about the reboot not selling enough compies.

Unless Microsoft gave them an absolutely ridiculous amount of money that can somehow make up for those lost PS4/PC sales, or this is a timed exclusive, I think it's a going to be a bad deal.

I don't know anything about infamous, but I do know I wouldn't spend $400 for two games. Not trying to make this into a console war. Just saying stuff like this should be expected. Everyone who bought a PS4 went in knowing the library wouldn't stack up.

I don't even really want to respond to this, b/c it pretty much has nothing to do with what I've been arguing this entire time... but what exactly doesn't stack up?

This seems crazy to me, and after the success that the first one was, it seems silly for Square to agree to a deal like this, regardless of how much money was thrown their way for exclusivity. That being said, great move for Microsoft.

lol 2 of the games I've bought for PS4 I could have played originally on last gen in 2013. I didn't so I feel okay with what I've gotten so far, but the fact remains that the exclusively next gen blockbuster games are still MIA.

I don't know anything about infamous, but I do know I wouldn't spend $400 for two games. Not trying to make this into a console war. Just saying stuff like this should be expected. Everyone who bought a PS4 went in knowing the library wouldn't stack up.

And the Xbox One lineup does? Are you serious? Forza was severely lacking. No one cares about Dead Rising 3. Ryse was meh at best and quickly forgotten. And the biggest laugher may be Titanfall. Do you know anyone still playing that game? It went from 'The greatest game ever made' at last year's E3 to no more giving a fuck about it mere months after launch.
At least Sony's indie lineup takes a giant dump on anything MS has to offer.

Like Swarley has said, this is a smart move my MS, I think, but terrible for Square Enix and TR fans on general. I can't see too many people buying the Bone just for TR. This reeks of the shitty MS timed exclusive for the GTA4 dlc and that blew up on their face. They didn't get anywhere near the sales equalling the $50 mil they gave Rockstar.
EA quickly learned that signing an exclusivity agreement with MS over TF was a huge mistake. This deal must've have been even bigger than that none for SE to sign, or they're completely retarded.
Or Atlas, PrimeTime and Steel Mamba all accepted jobs on the Square Enix advisory board recently.

I think Forza was fine for a console racer. They also have one of the best fighting IP's in KI which turned out to be great. Classic Halo's with MP coming up, new Halo, Fable is looking pretty innovative, Crackdown, Gears and a lot of other good exclusives to look forward to. I just don't see what Sony has that compares.

I never said this was good or bad for Square, just further proof that the XB1 is better for gaming.
