When Arlovski and Sylvia fought Fedor, they were both considered top 10 heavyweights. Not until Fedor beat them both did they drop from the top 10.

Both Slyvia and Arlovski were consensus Top 5 HWs, arguably Top 3 HWs prior to facing Fedor. And Timmy may have been boring as fuck, but he is FAR from the worst HW fighter.

AA beat Roy in Oct. of 08.. not all that long ago. When AA is focused hes still a very dangerous fighter. I wont defend Sylvia tho.. straight bum status.

Brock, I will admit, would be the biggest challenge. He would have a 45 (likely 60 by fight time) lb weight advantage over him, and only in the HW class is that kind of difference tolerated.

Big Nog, he has defeated. Twice

Carwin, maybe. He is huge, which is an advantage to start. But his striking is terrible, and Fedor is no slouch on the ground. I'd still take Fedor. He's essentially a bigger version of Coleman/Randleman.

Cain. The same Cain that was rocked a number of times by Kongo and who's ground punches look like tippy-taps? I'm sorry, but even if it went to the ground, thats an armbar waiting to happen

Junior. One dimensional. Going to the ground for some Fedor GnP

Mir. Please.

So, I just don't understand where this hate comes from. Overeem could likely handle Carwin down, if he was on his day (innocent until proven guilty re: roids). Barnett, if he could get clean, could also give those guys a match and has beaten Nog in the past.

Fedor is by far the most dominant MMA fighter of our generation, if not ever. To be essentially undefeated in such a random sport means you BOW TO HIM LIKE HE IS YOUR FUCKING KING!

I am sure you are happen watching him beat up on slobs like Brett Rodgers, what's next can't wait to see him fight Bobby Lashley and all the fanboys will be all saying how great he looked lol. I will believe the Fedor hype when he steps into the cage and locks horns with Brock. But U can't say that guys like Cain, Junior, and Carwin ain't some nice up and coming fighters that have a bright future not saying there beating Fedor but it's alot better what strikeforce offers or any other promo's have. The HW division is better now then it was 2-3 years ago not even close.

Sorry, but can you explain to me why a guy who has 31 career wins and is regarded as the best fighter of all time needs to prove himself against a guy who is 4-1? Shouldn't Lesnar be trying to get out of his UFC contract to get a chance to prove he is really the best instead of beating the second rate guys?

Obviously you're too stupid to understand that its not just about fighting. If Dana wanted to co-promote, this fight would happen. He doesn't (and I can't blame him), but Fedor has to look out for his own interests too. He part owns M-1 Global. His fight against Rogers was the first time he has been broadcast live in his homeland, which is a big deal for him. This is a guy who travels with two PRIESTS to every event, so when Dana calls him a stupid Russian and a liar, that stays with him.

When Brock leaves the UFC in the lurch in a couple of years with a record of 10-1 or whatever, he will still max out as the second greatest heavyweight of all time. Why? Because he lost to Frank Mir. Fedor, well, until he loses, trumps all

I still don't understand why people think it's fear of Lesnar that kept Fedor out of the UFC. It was business, plain and simple. Fedor wanted to push his company M-1, Dana said no. That's it. No underlying themes with their fallout. Strictly business; maybe a tad personal the way Dana slanders Fedor constantly, but that can be forgiven.

Is someone who has been through many wars with some of the elite HWs of the sport and won for over a decade really scared of an uberathletic fighter with a 4-1 record that has victories over an over-the-hill champion who hadn't competed in over a year, a Korean can, an irrelevant and broken Heath Herring (who he couldn't even finish), and Frank fucking Mir? I like Lesnar, but let's slooooow down the bandwagon a bit. It would be similar to calling out Machida for not fighting King Mo.

Fedor isn't invincible and there are definitely a few fighters out there that can (and will) beat him, but this talk about the lack of competition is ZUFFA bullshit because his last three fights have been against consensus Top 10 HWs and his upcoming bout with Fabricio Werdum will be his fourth. If that isn't a quality strength of schedule I don't know what is.

As for Cigano, Cain and Carwin. They are a very nice trio with a bright future, but they aren't "a lot" better than what Strikeforce/DREAM can offer. I can easily argue that the talent level is very similar.

Fedor is far and away the best HW in the world bar none. Anyone who disagrees needs to get off Dana's nuts. Fedor wrecked a prime Nog 3 times, wrecked Randleman, Coleman twice, a prime Cro Cop, Ironhead Fujita, etc. Thats a much more impressive resume than Lesnar. He's beat Mir once, and over-the-hill Couture once, Herring once (Fedor beat him too...finished him unlike Lesnar), and Min Soo Kim. Thats no who's who of HW fighters. Carwin's only notable win is over Gonzaga. Cain's best wins are over Kongo (when he looked terrible standing,only won b/c Kongo has shit ground game) and Rothwell. JDS has the most impressive resume, beating Yvel, an over-the-hill Cro Cop, and Werdum. Put all their wins together and it's still not as impressive as Fedor's resume.

Like it was said before, if anyone needs to prove themselves, its not Fedor. And for the record, Arlovski was riding a five fight win streak with wins over Werdum, Nelson (KO), and Rothwell (KO) before fighting Fedor.
