John: Welcome to today's episode of Baseball Tonight where we will be discussing the Giants impressive victory and the possibility of a comeback from the 1998 Rookie of the Year, Ben Grieve.
Steve: Yes, welcome everybody. This will be quite an interesting episode.
John: So let's start this off. The Giants played an epic game tonight against the Padres. They took an early 6-1 lead, but Noah Lowry blew it for the Giants. Brian Giles hit two homers against Noah Lowry and that helped the Padres get the 8-6 lead. Things got interesting, though, in the 8th and 9th innings. Edgar Renteria was able to single home Randy Winn to make the score 8-7. In the 9th inning, Cla Meredith came in to close the game for the Padres. Aaron Rowand started the inning off with a single. Then, Pablo Sandoval flied out, then Travis Ishikawa blooped a single into left field. Then pinch hitter Nate Schierholtz flied out to right field. Bengie Molina came through with two outs as he singled to make the bases loaded. Then, pinch hitter Morgan Ensberg came through after he fought to get the full count. He walked and that got Aaron Rowand home. Then, Randy Winn took the plate. Cla Meredith gave him a fastball over the middle and he drove it to center field and that won the game for the Giants, as Travis Ishikawa easily scored from third. It truly was a good game.
Steve: Yeah, John. It was a good game. The Giants fought back after giving up the lead. I'm not sure what's going on with Noah Lowry, though. He's been very inefficient the past 5 starts, as he's allowed 29 runs and has increased his ERA by nearly two full points.
John: I agree, Steve. Lowry has been off. I've noticed a change in his mechanics. In his past few starts, he has been releasing the ball earlier than he normally does, which allows the ball to hover at the top of the strike zone. Lowry also doesn't have much zip on his pitches, so he's been hit around.
Steve: I think the Giants should put Lowry in the 'pen for a few game and let him ease back into form. Until then, Jonathan Sanchez should take his spot in the rotation. He has been absolutely filthy since his return from his toe injury.
John: Yes. Sanchez has been doing pretty well. Let's change the topic, though. Let's talk about Ben Grieve. Grieve has been out of the majors since 2005. He was destined for great things, but after his departure from the Oakland A's, he has been absolutely horrible. You can pretty much say that he has been a bust.
Steve: I agree. Grieve didn't live up to his expectations. It was probably due to his lack of motivation. He gave up on a lot of plays and really didn't care about winning or losing. Although, this morning, I got a call from Grieve. He told me how he wants to come back to the big leagues for another shot at greatness. That's all he basically told me, though.
John: I loved watching Ben [Grieve] play on the A's and always thought he would be a great player. I would love for him to come back, but my question is, which team would take a chance on him? I mean he has had motivation issues and gives up a lot. His talent is unquestioned though, but we shall see.
Steve: Yes. Grieve has filed to be in the free agent pool and we shall keep you updated on his track to the majors, if that does come.

Thanks a lot man. And yeah I have been doing fairly well with my crappy lineup. I think if I didn't acquire Delmon Young, I would've been in a WAY different position. He has been a major part of my offense and I'm glad I got him.
Haha. I always liked Ben Grieve. Not sure if I wanna sign him to the Giants, though.
