I was so pissed that I couldn't score enough runs to support Lincecum. He did well on the mound, but that doesn't matter cause he didn't get the "W".

Giants Just Fall Short With Homer In The 9th Inning

Game Story
The A's were once again able to get the series victory against the Giants, as they won today by a narrow score of 3 to 2. Jonathan Sanchez and Justin Duchscherer both pitched well. Sanchez only allowed 1 run through 6 innings, while Duchscherer allowed 2 runs through 8 2/3. The Giants bullpen faltered, though. Osiris Matos pitched 2 innings of relief, but allowed 2 runs. If Matos did not allow the two runs, the Giants would have been able to win the game.

The A's scored a run in the 6th inning with an RBI single by Eric Patterson, which scored Travis Buck. The A's got two more in the 8th inning where Orlando Cabrera doubled home Travis Buck and Eric Chavez singled home Orlando Cabrera. By that time, the score was 3 to 0. The Giants went into the 9th and were able to get a man on base. Pablo Sandoval took the plate and hit a homer off of Justin Duchscherer to make the score 3 to 2. Closer Michael Wuertz came into the game and closed things out, as the Giants weren't able to come back.

The San Francisco Giants suffered a minor blow to their offense, as 2nd Baseman Eugenio Velez left today's game against the A's. Velez dove after a ball hit up the middle, but missed it. He got up grabbing an awfully bloody nose and the Giants trainers got on the field and got Velez off the field.

The doctors said that Velez had a fractured nose and should be out for the next 3 games. Velez has done a very good job this season as the 2nd Baseman as he he is hitting over .300 with more than 10 stolen bases. He will be missed for the next three games and either the struggling Emmanuel Burriss or the newly-acquired Andy Marte will take Velez's spot at 2nd Base.

Yeah he is man. He hasn't allowed many guys on base and hopefully he is a lock-in for the ASG.

EUGENIO!!!!!! NO! Quick suggestion: Andy Marte (not sure how big he is in game) is pretty big and might be slow for 2nd base.

I was mad that Eugenio went down, but it's only for 3 games. Marte is 6'1, 190 lbs with a 68 speed in the game. Not sure if I should put him there or if I should put Burriss in there. Marte has a lot of pop in his bat, but Burriss has a lot of speed.

Brian Wilson is just a stud. Cainer is too, an ERA under 2 is insane

Is Matt Downs in your game? He has decent pop and decent speed so he's kind of a mix. Burriss would be my second choice. You could also make a trade for Freddy Sanchez

Yep. Downs is in my game. He's in AAA right now, but he's got a fair amount of contact and some good speed. Burriss is a better contact hitter and has better range, but hitting wise, I haven't had much success with him. I'm going to call up Downs and see how well he does in the next three games. And as of now, I don't plan on trading for Sanchez. I might, but doesn't look like I will.
