Homer Bailey (SP)

For:
Felipe Lopez (2B)
Jose Carmona (SP - 20 years old, B potential)
Elvin Pages (young catcher)

Should I do it?

bad bad trade for the d-backs

they just acquired lopez, have montero (offensive catcher, plays against rightys sometimes) and snyder (REALLY good defensive catcher)

All right, I read today that the Indians would trade Cliff Lee if he continues to struggle. It's interesting to me as I reach the trade deadline coming up relatively soon, and he's currently struggling in my chise as well. If you were to shop Cliff Lee who do you think I could get in return.

A fluke? You calling the Cy Young winner a Fluke? Tell me how many guys have repeated or done better than their best seasons? Not a lot, so Cliff Lee is no different. He was just THAT good at THAT time. Your still looking at the very least a three/four in the rotation pitcher, when he's horrible.

More like a 3/4 pitcher when he's playing at his normal level. When he's horrible, he shouldn't even be on a major league roster. Last year was an outlier, big time based on his career numbers. One good season makes not a career.

I called this in the MLB predictions thread. Lee's season last year was a gigantic fluke, and he will never come anywhere close to the numbers he put up again.

no i consider him a normal 3/4 pitcher

2007 - 5-8, 6.29era
2006 - 14-11, 4.40era
2005 - 18-5, 3.79

thats a pretty steady decline with last year ocming out of no where = a fluke

isnt his contract expiring too? id say look for a mid-level prospect + 2 low-level prospects

Nahh,, Johnson is doing solid in my chise so his ratings have increased accordingly and Hanson is a top 10 prospect in the league so I think it's pretty fair.

Maybe add a minor league catcher as well

That's called injured, doubt anybody can deliver injured, 2008 comes on and the guy can't lose, Indians struggled with injuries all season, couldn't deliver and STILL finished .500.

Get some real facts, don't just look at wins and losses and think you know what the guy did. In years where Cliff Lee pitches good the Indians do well, the Chi Sox won the title in 05, Tigers went in 06, Indians got put out in 07 by the Red Sox. Cliff isn't just someone you roll over. Thank you for your input on the trade however, what would you consider mid-level prospect? Are we talking a 4-5 AAA guy, or a starter at the single A level?

dont act like i DONT know what im talking about facts arent thinking, i agree 2005 was great, dont blame 2006 on a bad team that kills your argument for 2008, 2007 he maybe was injured but when he was in he sucked, and its hard to suddenly become better after an injury, i know what im talking about, if cliff lee has another cy worthy year you can quote me, until then, i stick to what i said

just looked it up, lee has a team option this year, so might be worth a B-Potential Prospect and 2 C-Potential Prospects

Ok Guys, i need a CF,OF that does not play every day as Ellsbury is on the 15 Day DL, Van Every just went out for 2-3 Months and Baldelli is not to great, he annoys the shit outta me.

I am willing to trade a B/C pitching prospect and maybe more for a decent player.

Any ideas?

Just play Bailey or Carter if Ellsbury is only on the 15 day dl
