I'd love to get Livan Hernandez on the Marlins, where he started his career. He's one of my favorite pitchers and he brings veteran leadership. What would I have to give to the Mets?

See what I was thinking was the 2003 Marlins won the World Series with a great combination of youth and veteran leadership. This Marlins team has great youth with great talent, but not a lot of veteran leadership. I could add Livan Hernandez to bring some veteran leadership to the starting rotation, and then add a veteran catcher like Pudge.

Thoughts?

see above post, hernandez is a low reward/low risk guy, middle of the road prospect

i like the idea, not sure about pudge though, then again, i hated him on the marlins

So, no one has an idea on a realistic way to get rid of D-Train for maybe a decent pitcher to stick into the 2nd or 3rd slot of the rotation?

not with his salary, youd have to find a team DESPERATE for pitching or the yankees if theyre struggling

my advice is wait til the trade deadline and look around

mike - ya the whole reason he was angry is that he is a gold glove shortstop being moved to 3rd for rookie elvis andrus, he seems content now though

t.dot - i like it, would only need to be middle of the road prospect though

Mike you could move a hitter for Michael Young. Maybe Marcus Thames and a prospect for Young. That'd fix your problems at SS, and you would still have Sheffield at DH.

or you could replace thames with Sheff, and have Marcus DH. (thames can also play first and OF)

I dont know though, I think Detroit would have to give up more.

Hmmm...something to consider down the road. Sheffield is hitting well for me, 2 homers in the past 2 games. I think I might keep the big fella. I've always liked Young for some reason and Everett, despite being a solid defender, is an offensive liability.

My trade for Livan Hernandez will be later on in the season. I may sign Pudge and another veteran fielder and make it as off-season acquisitions.

I am going to try to get some starting pitching later in the season in my Orioles chise. I am thinking of getting rid of Brian Roberts or Luke Scott. The O's are in desperate need of SP in this game so we need to get rid of some of these guys to get the quality pitchers we need. Who do you suggest that I could get for Roberts or Scott, or both?
