where were they the most talented team on paper? I believed the hype too, but i also knew their QB has never come through in the clutch. He is just a good to watch mid season fenom. Not a playoff winner. The club is going to have rebuild already again hahahaha

if you look at it in hindsight dallas never should have been a super bowl favorite. They beat up on the sisters of the poor last year oak, kc, tampa and washington twice. now im not taking anything away from the quality part of their schedule wins over new orleans and philly twice. but the high expectations of the experts should have never been and it would be very easy to suggest that it was more for it being a better story than rehashing peyton manning, tom brady or throwing a dart and picking one of the bottom feeders with an easy schedule to have a good season.

to further extend my opinion both KC and tampa are beating up on this years sisters of the poor and washington last year lost to the lions which was one of only 2 wins.

I'm surprised so many people consider Dallas a disappointment over Minnesota, who lost by a cunt hair in the NFC championship game last season.

My vote goes to the Vikings.

I think it comes down to last year really being a surprising year for the Vikings. Favre had a career year and I dont think anyone really expected him to do what he did last year, this year.

However, Dallas' defense really started to jell last year and Tony Romo took care of the ball, led Dallas to a winning record in the winter, and finally won their first playoff game since 1996 by beating the hated Eagles 3 times. The monkey was off their back and this was supposed to be the year they took that next step.

For me it's Dallas, hearing from everybody i know, on tv and radio, oh they're gonna be in the Super Bowl to absolutely nothing.

For the Lions to be playing better than the Cowboys at times is a serious wtf.

Definitely the Cowboys but, before the Romo injury the team wasn't playing horribly. The close losses going to the other team were a definite indicator that this team just didn't have a Super Bowl run in them, and the QB going down pretty much sealed it.

2005, they were coming off a 6 win season.

2006, they were coming off a 9 win season with no playoffs and Drew fucking Bledsoe.

2007, coaching change, team was picked as a solid contender but by no means a Super Bowl favorite.

2008, the addition of some name guys and a good draft. You have a case with this one.

2009, coming off an extremely disappointing campaign where everyone and their mother was calling the team a bunch of losers who couldn't deliver under pressure.

2010, again, you have a case.

2 years out of 6 does not to say "They think they should polish the Lombardi and engrave a star on it every year".

I won't argue that this year hasn't been humiliating, but don't act like this is a yearly thing.

I challenge you to show me all that "preseason asskissing" in any other year but this one and 2008. Even this year, for every article that called them a SB contender, there were 2 or 3 that said that they would choke again down the stretch.
