In the state of today's game, no one will come close to Rickey Henderson's 130 steals in a season, or his overall steal total.

The last time someone stole over 80 was 1988. Vince Coleman had 81, and Rickey had 93.

The overall record is 1406, which is one shy of being 150% of #2 (Lou Brock, 938). If the game continues to focus on power, no one will come close to Rickey for years and years, if ever. Current leader is Juan Pierre... with 527.

NASCAR has become so competitive that there is no way in hell anybody will reach 200 wins. In comparison Jeff Gordon has 82 and Dale Earnhardt has 76. The second closest driver, David Pearson, is 95 wins away.

NASCAR is a sport, so fuck you. Richard Petty's record still counts.

Jeter being this position could lead to him breaking Rose's record.

As it is, at the end of three years, he could be #5 overall in hits; a bit of a stretch (he needs 588), but he'll probably be #6 (needs 509).

Add the 4th contract year, putting him at age 40 at the end of the 2014 season, and he's possibly less than 600 hits from Rose. It all comes down to if he can still hit. If he can, it'll be a directive from above to keep him; a pure Yankee with one of the most prestigious records in baseball?

I don't think anybody will ever win 200 races considering the competition in NASCAR today. Of course, I never thought anybody would make a run at the 7 cup titles record and Johnson is starting to get close.
