I thought all stock cars are the same....whats with these engine upgrades?

You start out with a bad car in career mode and you can upgrade it to make it more competitive.

I may have to bump the difficulty down for a race so I can bring in a good sized check from the sponsors and get another upgrade. Yesterday I bought a car design before I knew that it was only usable in online or single race mode. So that was 150k down the shitter.

The career mode is fun. I'm always a sucker for stuff like that that's done well.

The AI goes full retard entering and exiting pit road, there is almost always a big wreck. Hopefully this gets addressed in the future.

I'm putting the league on hold for awhile. Way too many bugs and glitches happening for the online portion of the game right now.

But so far after talking to some friends that have bought the game, the online is till waiting on update fixes. But I'm following the gossip on your league ideas..... standing by!

We had the idea for one, but we just didn't generate enough interest for it. I haven't played online, but I've heard that it's still pretty bad.

There are a few issues there. I hope they patch the wrecks on green flag stops and do something with the leaders deciding to play follow the leader when they catch up to the back of traffic on narrow tracks.

I have a few suggestions as far as those looking to upgrade their cars via career mode. I focused on engine upgrades early on but my problem was that even at the base level, I could compete but my tire wear would kill me. I turned the focus to reducing tire wear and getting better restarts so I did nothing but upgrade chassis and transmission. It helped my car keep up on restarts and since I fully upgraded the chassis I can make full fuel load runs with my tires.

I just finished with the first New Hampshire race, leading the points with 5 wins(Dover, Pocono, Kentucky, July Daytona, and New Hampshire) and 11 top 10s. I was racing on hard but just now bumped it up to champion. I started out running 50% races but have taken it to 20% because I am anxious to get to season 2 to get rid of this Sprint scheme.

Played around a bit in the paintbooth today. I had a running idea from before the game was released but couldn't make it all happen so I settled for the lesser amount of work.

Not sure how many really get it but chose to model the car for the Springfield XD-45 pistol. I planned on having a secondary sponsor on the sides from something outside of the weapon industry but what I wanted is still a work in progress. Federal is a bullet manufacturer. Text is not exactly right but I think its close enough and probably not well known brands to piss anyone off. I think I did a decent job for my first time playing around with any paint booth since the Sierra games.

Gen 6 cars on the way as DLC

Activision has announced new sixth generation car downloadable content for NASCAR The Game: Inside Line. Available in February on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the new content will bring Gen 6 cars to Inside Line for the first time.

New cars include the new Chevrolet SS, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry models, which “now accurately resemble each manufacturer’s showroom models like never before.”

According to developer Eutechnyx, “the NASCAR Gen 6 cars further Eutechnyx and Activision’s shared commitment to continue to deliver an unparalleled NASCAR experience. Players will be able to put these new cars through their paces online and in selected single player modes, as well as with the upcoming Inside Line Highlights (sold separately), a series of in-game DLC packs that utilize telemetry data from actual NASCAR races to let players relive and rewrite race events just as they unfold for real.”

The new cars will be available for purchase using Tickets within the game, or as part of the Inside Line Highlights pack.

Why didn't they just delay the game and have these cars? Hell they could have released this game the week of the Daytona 500.
