I'm not sure if there's a way to get numbers on this, but Battier was guarding Durant during a lot of the fourth quarter. Which to me, made absolutely no sense. Maybe I just noticed some select possessions but I felt like Battier was on him more than LeBron down the stretch.

I know and that is my point. James should have told Battier that he was going to guard him.

Wade was absolute shit in that game. He's really hurting this team a lot, inefficient scoring, uninspired defense, lack of movement off the ball. It's really making their offense look worse than it already is.

I truly believe the Heat should look into trading Wade in the offseason. However, his play as of late seems to be mean that he is on the decline or injured, so his value has to be dropping. The other issue is how would James react to having his butt buddy traded away.

I agree. The Big 3 thing hasn't worked, even if they do win the Finals it doesn't look like a long term plan. Bosh gets a lot of the shit but James and Bosh seem to play well with one another. Wade and James do not. Both are significantly better when the other is off the floor.

TBH, I really don't see how bringing in a new coach changes much for this team. At the end of the day there aren't that many great coaches that could really improve this team as constructed. The issue is that this team is built around 2 players who are at their best in isolation/pick and role. I've always believed that James would be great in the triangle offense, but other than that he and Wade do best in isolation/pick and role. James is playing the same way he did under Mike Brown with the Cavs.....get the ball to LeBron....LeBron! DO SOMETHING!!

Yeah, I find it funny when people think the reason why Miami is losing is Spoelstra. He doesn't have that many options in terms of players, so there aren't many "moves" he can make. The only gripe I have with Spoelstra is I think he is limiting Bosh's minutes too much, but even then I don't know if thats whats really holding them back from winning.

And Riley is like how Al Davis was on the Raiders. Bring in a flunkie coach so Riley/Davis can remain in the spotlight and get credit when the team wins.

The roster construction sucks no doubt, but he's one of the worst in-game coaches I've seen. He doesn't notice or exploit match up problems.

Also the best way to judge an NBA coach, in my mind, is late game possessions and possessions out of timeouts. For those that watch good coaches in the NBA versus bad ones should be able to see a distinct difference between what the Heat do versus someone like Popovich and one of the best out of the timeout guys Skiles (although he's a grating little asshole). The Heat cannot get an open look when they need it, they just can't do it. Game winning possessions are a nightmare because nobody knows what the hell they are doing. That's inexcusable, something should be drawn up.

Is that the players just not doing what he's saying or Spoelstra not telling them what to do, or not having any ideas? I don't know, can't say for sure.

The Thunder might beat the Heat regardless of who the coach is but you see so many choices made by Spoelstra that seem to make no sense. Limiting Bosh's minutes in the NBA Finals when he's shown no real signs of rust since coming back is really odd/stupid. Not playing James in the mid to high post all season has been incredibly dumb, especially when Bosh went down. The Heat have some other pieces that can fill in the wings but Bosh going down/getting limited minutes really hurts their low to mid/high post game factor of the offense. If you can slide James into that high pick and roll as the screener or as a facilitator from that location it would help tremendously to balance the floor out, give Wade more room up top to operate and make the Thunder have to guard inside and out rather than just guarding the perimeter/wings when Bosh isn't in the game. Spoelstra has had three of the best players in the NBA on his team for the last two years and outside of a few occasions it never really feels like he dictates or forces matchups with them to the opposition. He's basically just riding the talent to wins. Which I guess would/can work but against more balanced teams and better coaching the Heat struggle and against top end balanced/deep teams like the Celtics, Thunder, Spurs, etc the Heat can/will get themselves in big trouble in the playoffs.

LeBron went 9-31from 3 in 7 games, Wade went 3-12 in 7 games, Bosh went 3-5 in the 3 games he played.

Out of the Big 3, Bosh is statistically the best option as of right now.
