The 8th seeded Clippers managed to upset the 1st seeded Blazers in the 1st round in 6 games and look to be on a tear right now. However, the battle tested Spurs had it easy in the 1st round, defeating a battered and bruised T'Wolves team. The Clippers were able to take advantage of a still young and inexperienced Blazers team. The Spurs would love to make one last push for another ring for their Manu, Tony and Timmy trio.

The reigning NBA champion Phoenix Suns might've dodged a bullet now that the New Orleans managed to scrape out a series win against the Lakers in the 1st round. That doesn't mean the Suns can take it easy. Hornets rookie Jrue Holiday has made his presence felt in his 1st postseason appearance of his career and will be a handful for Leandro Barbosa and Jason Richardson, the NBA's 6th man of the year. If the Suns want to have a shot at a repeat, they will have to avoid the Hornet's sting.

Much like the #1 seed was upset by an 8th seed in the Western Conference, the #1 seeded Orlando Magic got caught off gaurd and were eventually eliminated by the Detroit Pistons, led by Richard Hamilton, who averaged a career best 22.3 points a game this season. However, the Pacers are also coming into this series with a ton of momentum after sweeping a very talented Hawks team in round #1. Sheed will look to have a big series against his former team.

Injuries cut the Celtics playoff run very short a season ago but they are healthy now and it shows, sweeping the Sixers (who eliminated them a season ago) in the 1st round. They aren't the only team coming into the series after a sweep in the 1st round though. Dwyane Wade and Michael Beasley have their sights on bringing their first NBA title back to South Florida since 2006 after sweeping Lebron and the Cavs in round 1.

Doesn't get much better than this. Calling these two teams rivals would be an understatement. Early in the season, it appeared that this would be a forgettable season for Detroit after failing to make any noise in free agency after Allen Iverson came off the books. The Pistons started off slow and decided to part ways with one of their core pieces in Rasheed Wallace to none other but the Pacers for Tyler Hansbrough. Next thing you know, Pistons are winning games. Next thing you know, Pistons clinch the #8 spot in the East after winning the tiebreaker against the Wizards. Next thing you know, the Pistons have upset the #1 seeded Magic. Here we are, 2nd round of the playoffs, and it's about to get ugly. If the Pacers want to win this series, here is what they will need to do.

Richard Hamilton Needs To Be Slowed Down

With Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace both no longer with the Pistons, Richard Hamilton has stepped up as a leader for this Pistons team. His 22.3 points a game this season is a career-high. He knows how to move without the ball and it will be up to Jamal Crawford and Brandon Rush to fight around picks and keep a hand in his face. If he gets it going, it could be all sorts of trouble for the Pacers.

Pistons Play Small; Take Advantage

The Pistons are athletic, fast and know how to get out and run. But with Jason Maxiell covering most of the minutes at the center position, the Pacers will have to take advantage. Maxiell plays big, no doubting that. But Chris Kaman and Rasheed Wallace will have to use those extra inches to control the paint. Whether it's cleaning the glass or contesting shots inside.

Take Care Of The Ball

The Pistons may be small inside but have some of the best perimeter defenders in the league on their roster. Tayshaun Prince and Bruce Bowen will be roaming the perimeter and will make you pay if you don't take care of the ball. They love to clog passing lanes and won't hesitate to reach if you show the rock. The Pacers are a mentally tough team who can't allow themselves to be forced into rushing shots or forcing bad passes.

The Pacers managed to take the season series 3-1, with their only loss coming in overtime in the final matchup of the season in Detroit.

Rip took over in this one and had a huge game at the Palace that finally got the Pistons on the board against the Pacers in the regular season. It was another game decided by overtime for these two teams, unfortunately for the Pacers, it was the Pistons who emerged victorious.
