Trust me, if this exact same service were being offered for mlb.tv I'd have already notified my legal team. No way that shit is cutting into my livelihood. I'm sure there's some NBA streaming media employee out there right now who will stumble upon this thread, or a similar one on another forum, and put the kibosh on this shit right away.

Yeah I mean I hate to say it but I would have shut it down yesterday if it had anything to do with any companies we run streams for. You just can't let people pirate your shit if you want to stay in business.

If you got paid directly from subscription fees, and someone was skirting the subscription fee of your service and in turn offering it to others on the internet for a monetary fee, I highly doubt you would just shrug and go about your day.

There are no such sites that I know of, since our legal team actually does their job, apparently unlike our counterparts at the NBA if this thing lasted all of last season. I have never seen an MLB stream even listed on the handful of sites I stream soccer or basketball games from, and if they do ever hit the site we have people who monitor that shit and take them down.

If this guy was just running his own free streaming service like firstrow or atdhe that'd be one thing, but he's charging people money for a service he doesn't own the rights to. That's the definition of copyright infringement and I'll be shocked if he isn't popped for it.

I absolutely would. If I worked for the NFL/MLB/NBA the fact that sites were streaming games on the internet wouldn't bother me at all. Especially not enough to go to my boss about it. Partially because I know I use those sites myself.

No it's the exact same thing to you. In both cases the website is taking away from subscription fees, and in effect taking away from your bottom line...whether or not the site charges for it is irrelevant. In fact sites like firstrow are probably even worse, they probably draw more traffic since they're free, which means even less people paying subscription fees to the MLB. You should've reported firstrow (and any similar sites you come across) a long time ago if you're serious about your stance at all. You should probably also report this service too just off of general principle.

LOL. I personally don't care that this guy is doing what he's doing either, it doesn't affect me in anyway. I was merely pointing out that those that it does affect should rightly have a problem with this and because of that they will probably shut it down soon.

The only reason our company is in business is because we own the exclusive digital distribution rights of baseball games (and a ton of other sports events but that's besides the point). Of course any sane person would want to preserve their company's method of earning revenue. It's irrational to think otherwise.

Anyway, my company already does know about firstrow and atdhe, hence why neither site hosts MLB streams. If, however, someone was advertising on message boards that you could pay them a fee and they would route mlb.tv to them under the table, you're damn right I'd shut it down.

Good luck making it in the real world if you are content with letting people steal from your place of business. Would love to hear you bring up that stance at a job interview.
