LOL, except I am not charging other people money to watch the soccer streams I'm pirating (just like there's a difference between me burning a CD that I purchased online, so I can have a disc copy in the car, or burning 50 copies and selling it in Chinatown).

Burning a CD that you purchased online? What? That's a dumb anology. Of course there's a difference between those two things. But what's the difference between you watching streams of basketball and soccer games and someone watching streams of MLB games? You don't feel guilty cause you don't pay for it? Pfft. Those sites you watch streams on are pulling in revenue somehow, probably through advertisements. You're just as bad as someone paying this guy to watch NBA LP for free.

I personally don't care that this guy is doing what he's doing either, it doesn't affect me in anyway. I was merely pointing out that those that it does affect should rightly have a problem with this and because of that they will probably shut it down soon.


The only reason our company is in business is because we own the exclusive digital distribution rights of baseball games (and a ton of other sports events but that's besides the point). Of course any sane person would want to preserve their company's method of earning revenue.

The effect it has on most NBA employees (specifically the ones that work with NBA tv) is minimal in reality. Not like they're gonna get paid more if the site goes down. Just seems weird to me that someone with very little stake in it, would go out of their way to report it. Like I said in the first post, that's a lot of loyalty to your employer.

Anyway, my company alreaqdy does know about firstrow and atdhe, hence why neither site hosts MLB streams. If, however, someone was advertising on message boards that you could pay them a fee and they would route mlb.tv to them under the table ... I'd certainly give that over to the copyright guys. It's retarded to think otherwise.

This isn't true. Firstrow had the entire world series streamed. I don't watch baseball, I only know this because of people I work with. I'm guessing they stream games all season. Especially considering they have a baseball section and are streaming the MLB network right now (go tell on them)

Good luck making it in the real world if you are content with letting people steal from your place of business. Would love to hear you bring up that stance at a job interview.

I'm not stupid enough to bring up that stance in a job interview. So it's not going to stop me from making it in the real world.

I have no dog in this fight, but the World Series is not part of the MLB PPV package. If FOX was not diligent about taking it down, I don't see why MLB.com (or whoever NAHSTE works for) would be.

I realized the flaw in that analogy and removed it. Anyway, again, I'm not trying to moralize here, I'm just saying from a simple business perspective it is in the NBA's best interest to shut this down. Were it the MLB, I'd have done so without hesitation.

LOL, that's not the point. The point is that their company exists and makes profit because they have exclusive distribution rights. If you allow your exclusivity to erode you will eventually not have a company. Ask newspapers how that worked out.

The MLB Network is not a property of MLB.com. I don't think the World Series is either.

Fair enough. FWIW, every Sunday the entirety of our office has NFL games streaming on firstrow.

I ended up asking for a refund and the guy politely sent it right back. He won't rip you off if you decide to go with it.

I know it's unlikely, but once this bad boy gets taken down they could easily fine every single person using it, since it's stolen.

For whats its worth you can likely get every NBA game this season on stream thru firstrow or vipstand anyways, and not have to worry about money, being caught, or anything for that matter. Just not as convenient or as high quality.

If Paypal was more anonymous I would've paid for it easily. As is not worth the risk.
