this is mike vick. the pats may not have been predicted to be as good as they are this season, but everyone knew they would be a playoff team and contend for the SB.

the eagles were expected to be shit....remember back to the start of the season when kolb was the QB and everyone ragged on the eagles for their horrible o-line and defense? Well Mike Vick killed that discussion real fast. He is the only reason the eagles are where they are today. i wonder where they would be if Kolb didnt get hurt

Tom Brady is having an insane year and set a few new records in the process but I don't see how that Vick doesn't get the award unless some of the voters just can't get past his past transgressions. Watching Vick is electric this season.

If you take player X out and put in any average joe QB on BOTH teams which team would do better and worse. Saying, well Jim Sorgi is Peyton's backup so we should give him the award 4 times is bogus criteria for an award like this.

I don't think there's enough seperating them. Brady has better numbers but Vick has things like the game against Washington, the comeback against the Giants.

There's precedent for splitting the award between two QBs so I don't see what the issue would be. When McNair and Manning split it:

McNair was 3215 yards, 24 TDs, 7 INTs + 4 rushing TDs playing 14 games on a 12-4 team.
Manning was 4267 yards, 29 TDs, 10 INTs on a 12-4 Indy team.

Situations seem very similar to me even down to McNair missing some games like Vick has. But this time I think the two players are a lot closer.

Manning splitting the MVP with McNair was a complete joke, one of the biggest voting travesties in NFL history.

Manning had better numbers across the board, beat the Titans head to head twice, and the Colts won the division. Plus McNair was injured for a few games.

McNair getting a share of that award was the writers way of giving a "lifetime achievement" to a guy they liked. He didn't deserve it, but they knew that this particular year was probably the best shot they had at justifying giving it to him. Shame on anyone who voted for him. Manning was robbed.

While true, it's pretty clear the Pats would be in worse shape without Brady than the Eagles would be with Kolb. Wouldnt that make him more valuable?

I think some of us are taking for granted how good of a season Tom Brady is having just because he's Tom Brady. Tom Brady is really really really good. Let's not forget that. Tom Brady should run away with the MVP.
