Dammit, just started playing online against random opponents and I'm hooked.

Fun as fuck.

Playing anonymous opponents can be so annoying.
1) How many New Jersey fans are there?
2) A complete lack of respect for hockey - never freezing the puck, play offence while penalty killing, etc...

I wish this game had even goalie mode or something. I had being tactically stronger than an opponent, outshooting them by a mile, then losing because Carey Price gives up 1 or 2 soft goals a game.

I've played one person who was the devils. I get a lot of flyers games.

Kind of funny with point two. Last night I was playing a league game. It's with some friends and their friends. The two guys I played last night HATE with captial letters, puck freezing. They want the puck let out all the time. They wanted me to let the puck out when he had three guys in front. Also, the one guy I played never plays sim style. He's Montreal and he scored a shorty on me, and I said "so the league is going to be like this eh". He goes on about how his PK is terrible and he lets in so many goals. "it is my option to play offence while on PK, and I get scored on." I went 2/4 on the powerplay against him, and I won 6-3. I'm Washington, he's montreal.

I even told the guy to play proper because if he wants to pull the PK shit with me, I'll make him pay for it. So when he got a penalty, I simply took the puck down the ice and played keep away for 2minutes. lol. Just kept the cycle going. My guy gets out of the box and within a minute I score. He was steaming. I also had like 3 breakway goals on him.


And Dave, Price is possibly one of the worst goalies in the game. You are getting what you get with him. The guy I played yesturday allowed like 2-3 soft goals that shouldn't have gone in. Price is just a weak goalie, and you can play defence all you want, he isn't going to win you games. Don't know how people play as the same team all the time. I haven't yet played as the Penguins in a game.

I'm a Canadiens diehard.
In Madden, I love using different teams even though I'm an Eagles' fan, but I just can't do it with NHL.

I'd rather lose with the Canadiens than win with another team.

Anybody know when a roster update is coming out? I started a Flyers franchise and saw that the rosters weren't even close, Asham was still on the team.

Play EASHL last night for the first time in like a month. 9G, 2A, 11PTS in 3 games :smug:

Highlights of the night, 3 goal game followed by a 4 goal game, followed by a half hour of rage because EA has removed hat throwing after a hat trick. Now my hat tricks feel so empty .

We ended up playing the Pro Playoff Champs last night....which sucks because we shouldn't even be in the Pro division to start haha, but at that point we were messing around with a human goalie and they scored three quick goals on us, but he quit and we ended up losing 4-3. They weren't really that good, they just went for the cross-crease pass every single time.

Our current team is pretty good. The guy we had playing defense opposite of me though was obviously hammered out of his mind or just bad. He was one of those goes wherever the puck goes kinda guys.

Funny note from last night. Our left winger at the start of the game leaves all of a sudden. Then he comes back and his fire alarm is going off. So for like two games he isn't talking. Then all of a sudden he starts talking to someone in his apartment. Turns out, he is showing the fireman NHL11. He then pops a goal home.

Yea my buddies are always hit-or-miss on D since they just love hitting, if they hit the guy then we play well and usually win, if they miss we lose. I'd ask them to stop and just play positional D but I just don't care that much.

I consider myself decent at defense but I find myself getting bored sometimes and I get caught pinching a ton because my defense partner is rarely staying back.

I really enjoyed sitting back and playing defense.....it was fun to constantly stop guys driving in.

One of the best feelings when playing NHL is when you beat up on a guy so bad, he quits and starts playing another game. Just having that feeling that you pissed someone off so much you got them to get up out of their seat, go to their system and eject NHL to put in another game is a godlike feeling.

Doing it as the Maple Leafs just adds insult to injury.

So I have over 150 games played for my on-line player, but I only have a B+ overall rating, A-,B,A-. I've been playing Defense to try and get my team play up, make easy small passes and don't take penalties but I'm still only getting a B during games....tips?

I'm pretty sure team play is bugged.

I had a rare A's across the board last night playing defense and I really couldn't tell you how I did outside of it was really one of my better games where I had maybe one turnover.

I played 1 v 1 again tonight and I've officially stopped now until a patch is out or they revert the tuners all the way back to 1.00 (not going to happen obviously).

Has anyone else noticed goalie stupidity is up 100% too. I pretty much abandoned playing as teams such as Colorado, Tampa ect ect because with an 80ovr goalie it was just impossible to have any chance again some of these guys who do the same glitched move in the slot anymore.

I don't really think I've said to myself that I've just had it with this game this early allready. I was playing NHL10 up until the day before 11 was released but there is just something going wrong with this and I can't put my finger on it.
